Oh yeah. Solid Snake is named Snake Plissken. Carpenter directed Escape From New York. EFNY featured a character named Snake Plissken that provided Solid Snake his name.

The hospital and the escape from the hospital felt very Metal Gear. The desert stuff was like a lesser Assassins Creed style affair.

When I saw PoD back in 87 or so, I disliked it a lot. I caught it again a few years ago and really appreciated what he did in that movie.

I'd rather have some studio throw millions at Carpenter to make something that interests him rather than a TV show where he has to direct a certain way to set the tone for every one that follows.
