Well it’s about goddamn time! Univision is fucking horrible. As soon as they bought this site, the quality took a nosedive overnight. Hopefully somebody will buy this site that actually understands what made people enjoy it so much in the first place.

(Okay, that’s not really fair to throw Hughes under the bus. Univision probably mandates that all the staff writes horseshit like this in a clueless attempt to appeal to white liberals, but come on man. Our thinking is a lot more nuanced than this, right?)

Hughes won’t be satisfied until comedy is nothing but monologues about being an LGBTQ person in America, with none of these troubling “jokes” to worry about. Humor is problematic AF!

At least it’s intentionally bad, whereas Barsanti’s writing is just plain bad, but you can tell he thinks he’s being clever.

If she wants to keep things fresh, she should take a cue from Gallagher and smash baby #3 with a mallet onstage!

Well I would certainly hope not! What kind of lonely weirdo makes lists of internet comments?

Jeez, can’t you give someone else a turn to be outraged for once? Maybe someone who actually belongs to the marginalized group in question? It gets exhausting having to listen to your “I have a gay friend” bullshit all the time, especially now that we no longer have the luxury of a “block” button.

It’s about time somebody sticks it to that Trunp fella! I, for one, can’t wait for their epic takedown!

Now here’s a guy who, for all intents and purposes, is basically the Jar Jar Binks of The AV Club.

Ugh, a bunch of white men covering a song called “Africa”? Just what we need, more cultural appropriation!

I reject this on the grounds that whereas Marvin Gaye’s version was highly seductive, Ed Sheeran’s version will make you instantly lose your boner. Ergo, clearly not the same song despite some superficial similarities.

Honestly, this might be the first time one of these “celebs: they’re just like us!” stories has actually worked on me. I’m an Amy Adams fan now! And even less of a fan of McLevy than ever for trying to put on airs and pretend he’s too good for fart jokes.

I’d rather kill myself than listen to Twenty One Pilots!

This guy has a knack for recognizing great comedy, matched only by his talent for drawing the human anatomy.

Well if there’s anybody who would know a thing or two about being a talentless hack, it would be this current editorial staff!

Being banned from performing all across the US just for a joke? Clearly, we're living in the Stupid Ages.

Well okay, but now when I perform rap songs at karaoke night there’s gonna be basically nothing left!

I’ll have to check it out. I would also recommend the-avocado.org, which is where the majority of former AV Club posters have ended up. It has much livelier pop culture discussions without all the toxic, trolling bullshit that this site looks the other way on these days. Plus, most of the content is a helluva lot

Her style of comedy seems just as hacky as the worst “shock comedians” out there, just in the opposite way... Pretty much every clip I’ve seen of her stand-up is basically just her smugly telling largely joke-free anecdotes about encountering people that aren’t as progressive as she is. It’s just preaching to the

I was. I’ve been trying to make the best of this whole Kinja thing (in spite of its inherent crappiness), but somehow I randomly got demoted back to the greys a few weeks ago and have been stuck there ever since.
