lots of college students spend spring break in padre island, and visit matamoros to go drinking. Matamoros was a scary place 25 yrs ago and I imagine it's only gotten worse. I was down there when Mark Kilroy vanished (he was a college student who was murdered as part of some cult sacrifice).
