Now was that due to the fact that it was Boxster in a sea of 911s or the transmission, or both?

How long till someone starts complaining about the “Fried egg” tread pattern on the 996s?
Good riddance, land yachts!!
If only there were more crubs and a fents :(
For me, the 1 of 1 car is what the 458 design should have been. To me, the V8 Ferraris should have shoulder scoops. Kudos, Ferrari, you finally nailed the 458 design after it was replaced by the 488!
Or it could be that Americans don’t really want manual wagons. They want automatic SUVs. Sad, but true.
When the 458 came out, everyone praised it as super beautiful, which I agree, it was. However, it was missing shoulder scoops like the 360 and 430 before it and the 488 after it. I always wondered how good it could look if it had my beloved scoops. Now we know... I think it’s the 458 that should have been.
Woodward?
Yeah, but I’m entitled to this level of entitlement.
No, everyone knows that the German government owns them all and any in the US are only there at the leave of the Germans. It's true. I read it on the internet.
Apparently, one of them was borrowed for showing (and sale!) at the Hershey Swap Meet last month! Man, what a deal, “check out” the 959 and then quick sell it once you’re out of the country! Haha! And what a deal at only $1.25M!
The exceptions are always puzzling. For example, I-99 in PA is west of I-95 in NJ?
Whoa you’d stoop to a Tiptronic over a fake poseur car? That’s saying something!
The Turbo lights were always like that, from the first model in 2001. In 2002, the regular 911 inherited the non-fried egg look from the Turbo. The Turbo gets dragged down by the late 90s 996s, but they are very very different cars.
Used to have a 996 GT2? :( Hopefully you cashed out for good money! What did you get into after that?
Dear Letters2Doug,
“Ewwww! Runny Egg Headlights! It’s hideous”
It’s a shame so many people trash talk a car without having driven it. They just don't know...
I think they look sharp! Not a fan of the early 996/986 lights, especially with amber turn signal. Yes, those looked like runny eggs. The Turbo lights, not so much, at least to me.
Ever since someone pointed out the resemblance of the rear end of the Ford GT to an Angry Birds Pig, I simply cannot unsee it.
