So, comparing the actual Taycan to the Mission-E, why couldn’t Porsche have kept those beautiful curvy flared fenders in the production model? Are there some regulations that would prevent them from doing that? Tooling costs? The production version is pretty close to the concept with that exception.

I think the term “classic” regarding rock on the radio is 20 years old. Soon we’ll hear early 2000’s rock playing on these stations. I wouldn’t be surprised if Nu Metal is now considered classic and the Stones are considered “oldies”

The 996 Turbo/GT2, and particularly the two Ruf cars, look really good. Especially in person. Sure the ‘98 C2s with friend egg lights aren’t the most popular 911s by looks, but by 2002, they had really come a long way. I suspect that if the 996 had “turbo” lights from the getgo to differentiate from the Boxster, they

I support this, but I’d say that people would need a special endorsement on their license to legally enter these lanes (i.e., major fines if you are pulled over in the lanes and don’t have it). To get the endorsement, additional class and practical education (including high speed driving course) would be required. And

I think it’s high time we drop the diesel component of the ideal Jalop car. Perhaps replace with flat plane V8 or flat 6?

Eww.... Blackberry??

Thank you for mentioning Ruf first :)

I’m pretty sure he was Raptured.

There is such a thing as a Ruf VIN, not so with Singer.

That would be funnier if Ruf was pronounced “rough” instead of its actual pronunciation, which is closer to “roof” (you can hear Alois Ruf introduce himself on various Youtube videos). ;)

How do you “technically” define it? To me, it should look like an egg dumped into a frying pan. With or without yolks I guess. 996TT lights don’t resemble that at all to me.

Turbo and 996.2 lights are not fried egg. Fried egg on 986 Boxster, 996.1, and GT1. Personally, it needs the amber (yolk) blinkers to be true fried eggs.

All of that stuff is minor in my opinion. Some glossy black buttons instead of matte silver switches doesn’t warrant the whole “997 interior was designed by Michaelangelo and 996 interior was designed by Snookie” thing that seems to have been repeated and repeated. I think the 997 interior is like 10% better. 996 in

Gotta ask - look at these two photos. What is “leagues” above in these photos? The biggest differences are in the steering wheel and the center stack, which can be modernized with an aftermarket head unit. From the article, statements like “The interior is a goddamn masterpiece compared to the garbled mess that is the

Annnddddd... how do you like the 911? (which 911?)

I mistake these (front view) for 458s all the time, and then, as the article stated, am crushed when I realize it’s just a Vette. Similarly I mistook C6s for 360s all the time. Corvette is clearly being inspired by last-gen-ish Ferrari lights. Of course the new J50 looks like it is aping the older Camaro, so maybe

And guess what? 991 headlights aren’t really round either, they are kind of oval shaped. Sure they are more round than the 996 but they are definitely not the round 911 lights of yesteryear.

You mean Porsh Boxers?
