God... you watched it twice?  On purpose?

For a substantial segment of the population, the drawbacks of seeing a movie in the theater outweighed the advantages, pre-pandemic. First of all about 10 years ago I stopped going to any theater at all where I couldn’t reserve seats. Then there’s travel, cost, the random chance that someone sitting near me is some

The fact that there was an established actress in her 60s, whose physique, facial features, and mannerisms were all an uncanny match for someone as recognizable as Geena Davis is absolutely wild.

She also didn’t get along with Richard Gere or Shirley MacLaine.

I’m going to quote my Raylan Givens:

“You run into an asshole in the morning, then bad luck, you ran into an asshole. You run into assholes all day? You’re the asshole.”

Even though I saw a different name in the credits, I refused—nay, I STILL REFUSE—to believe that older Dottie was NOT Geena Davis in old person makeup.

There was a lot of things right about this film and it’s why it has endured. Hanks, Davis, Petty, most definitely Megan Cavanagh, and yes O’Donnell and Madonna were fine in the outfield, they were fun to watch.

Now playing

Madonna also elevated the movie’s exposure with the hit theme song.

I could see the producers overselling Madonna’s role in pre-production and making all the other actors feel like she was going to be the star and they should be lucky to have her.

This... was a catastrophically bad career decision (she got her pay-or-play so maybe not that bad, but no one casts you for the roles you didn’t play). Based on silliness. Madonna’s role was pretty small. It’s not cameo-small, and she was definitely part of the draw for the film given that she was like the biggest pop

The film did end up being entertaining and definitely put a spotlight on this unusual time in baseball for women. Whether Winger could have brought something different to the table, one thing is for sure. Gena Davis in the lead roll knocked it out of the park. And a genius bit of casting shepherded by Marshall was

I was in the minute I heard Monica is producing, since that means 1: she may actually get a fair shake in this narrative for once and 2: it’s about time she gets to tell her own story.

The movie should have won an Oscar.

Weird, I thought the movie was pretty much them at their peak. That and the Awesome-O episode, and the Scott Tenorman one.

He won’t have to do a damn thing. Trump and the GOP will do all the work. He’s just a black face on their machine. He’s there for the color of his skin and celebrity status and being a Republican.  That’s it.

Luckily for us, he’s a moron and unlikely to win a senate seat

Herschel is a dangerous hypocrite who would be a complete disaster holding any type of political office. Luckily for us, he’s a moron and unlikely to win a senate seat, in fact I doubt he even gets out of the starting gate once he see’s what’s required and the level of work he would need to put in just to launch a

In a few hours, blogs like this one are going to say that Kelly-Ann Fraser-Price only won the 100 because Sha’Carri Richardson isn’t in the race, despite Fraser-Price having been faster all season. The “pick a narrative and stick to it” method of journalism doesn’t work.

Biles is the GOAT, and I respect her decision to withdraw. But, yeah, it shouldn’t detract at all from Lee’s victory. I get the feeling that blogs like this one believe that celebrating Lee’s amazing win somehow undermines Biles and/or her decision to withdraw, and so they’re just ignoring it, which is shitty.

no, he absolutely did not got hacked and him saying that is such a troll. you can just hear the smiling while he’s saying this “Maaaannnn, I got hacked today. Can’t believe they got me.he’s been problematic for a long time.

it’s ridley scott?? this whole time i assumed it was a ryan murphy production.
