My hometown police dept has a firm “no chase” policy - chief is my cousin. I think about the only exception would be if you were literally firing guns out of your car or running people down with it. And I am more than OK with that. The state police chased a suspect though town at high speed a decade or so go (in…
Look, if we make them stop recklessly endangering the public with high speed car chases, what’ll be next?
Found the fascist.
She was a 14-year-old black girl living in a mostly-white gated community with a pool. She was having a party with some friends from school (mostly black). An old white lady called the cops; they asked her for ID (A. she was 14, B. she was wearing a bikini) that she didn’t have, and told her to leave.
Yes, cops get the “red mist” when somebody runs. Adrenaline is a hell of a drug. But, a lot of agencies are realizing the risk versus reward factor in the chase at all costs approach and have implemented policies regarding when to pursue and when to abandon. It sounds like this is what happened here.
I’ve been saying this since this started... wait another 3-6 months before you buy a car. The prices aren’t falling because of the supply issue. The supply hasn’t overwhelmed demand yet...
Optimism is good and it’s good you’re taking advantage of any current demands but the bottom is coming. This is more than a “blip”. We have record unemployment, a pandemic we haven’t seen the peak off and not to mention impending drop in real estate prices due to tightening lending standards. Enjoy the ride while you…
I am quite sure the service departments are going to be much more liberal in their repair estimates to make up for the sales shortfall. God help the customer looking for dealer service out of warranty.
At current interest rates, with no more inventory coming in until who knows when once what is in transit arrives? Not much of an incentive. I’d be holding tight too. I also agree that the deals will get better “eventually”.
the dealers have a big incentive to discount; they don’t own the cars on their lots, the banks do. they’re all financed and they’re paying interest every month on the stuff that doesn’t move. this hasn’t changed.
Give it a little time. When restrictions are lifted and people still aren’t ready to buy cars, there will be more discounts according to how long a car has been sitting on the lot for.
My observation: used car prices down about 5%. New car prices are no different than they have been. Dealers are in the denial stage...”I know what I have”. Deferred payments? 70+ month 0% financing? Puh-lease. It seems it will take a few more months of no sales for them to reach acceptance.
What happens in a pickup truck during a head on collision with 1700 pounds of unsecured concrete blocks in the bed? My guess is that those blocks make their way to wherever it is they see fit to go.
I know the obvious answer here is, “Yeah, but can everything else take the stress.” In my experience, adding this kind of power without upgrading other components has only lead to problems.
155 horses and 107 torques for just over $1200? That’s damn good!
I mean, fair, but counterpoont: fuck HOAs and they can burn in the pits of hell where they fucking belong.
The only people who complain about HOAs are THE assholes. Don’t be the worst house on the street and you’ll never have an issue.
You may have noticed a whole lot of rules have stopped applying during a pandemic.
Easier said than done in Florida. Almost everything is HOA controlled there, according to my friend in Tampa. It’s nearly impossible to find a house that isn’t part of a HOA unless you live out in the boonies, and they all have essentially the same set of basic rules.
