I’ll be the unpleasant voice here. While a prior commenter rightfully said there might be more to this case, it’s for me a pretty clear cut situation: if I’m at a certain position I’m expected to behave with certain decorum and not put my family’s income and organization’s perceived standing at risk for whatever

Exactly!!! I'm very surprised the author can't see thru a thinly veiled smokescreen

A case can be made your point about the 30k out of the door price being the culprit is pretty much all there is to know. Mazda substantially hijacked the price of the Miata with little benefit to buyers and is now crying wolf that sales are down? Is water wet?

Reading a lot of the comments makes me shake my head to oblivion. You could give them 1500 miles range, 1,000 hp, 3 min charging time and a $25,000 dollar price and they WILL moan about something, because it’s electric and they’re just spoiled. And I love my nat asp V8s myself, but this is getting laughable.

You could spend 115k on this and the inevitable BMW ownership (maintenance) experience.....Or you could buy a brand-new Z06.

Um, excuse me but....why are you here?

Can relate. 2011 Pilot nearing 200k miles. Paint is faded in spots, and there’s little bits and bobs that could use being newer but EVERYTHING works, it gives 23 mpg on the highway and has always passed inspection. Never left me stranded. Next vehicle will be a 2019ish toyota, but not anytime soon!

Exactly. Particularly in the Northeast you want a beater SUV to deal with the slush and salt and bulky items, and a fun vehicle for other times.

Completely agreed . The guy sounds sociopathic.

    Why?

C8s have moved things closer than they seem. I recall seeing a graph where the most convertibles sold lately have been HTC C8s.

I had one, many moons ago, with the improved LT1, for less dough. Price is meh-ish. I wouldn’t buy it on several fronts: color rarity (while a common New Balance crowd “thing”) does not a very special car make on its own. This is just a silvery blue. Not a bad color...but just ok. The engine bay presents a wee bit

    100% correct.

I don't mind one bit. Those speaking against it are just jealous they still have to pay rent/mortgage. This person made the best put of what they could. The true issue, as has been well-stated, is the state of the economy.

Agreed on most choices. Late 90s-00s Audi had fantastic styling and oozed a modern type of luxury. They’ve become overstyled today and I fear the infamous reliability issues, so I can't get on the Audi camp, sadly.

Hmmm I don’t know. Real world talk I like the idea of electric commuter cars but my trusty very old pilot gives me 23+ mpg while hauling anything and everyone I might need, anywhere, and no car notes. At that rate I believe it’s like 15c a mile for gas, plus expendable parts in maintenance. Thing is massively

Has the right to say “No” in all instances. Careful on suppoting forcing people out of their own free will. It may be applied to you down the line.

I don’t agree at all. Rights are rights. You don’t have to be forced to play for some entitled bozo on demand who isn’t even on your contract.

What to do? I really, really want it to flop as it’s wrong on every level, from concept to execution. But then Lotus would be dead. This is the very definition on “sellout”, yet people quickly forgave porsche for the Cayenne and forgot what pedaling your own weight on a darned bike means. Ah, well...they deserve it in

Agreed. That’s the maximum amount of Evil, barring WWII Bayer and Monsanto, that I’ve ever seen.
