I saw one of those here in FL with MX plates on it. It’s a hell of a thing, it can even make an Infiniti look good.

It’s Starion you right in the face. This might not be your Forte, but let me provide an Arrow in the right direction, lest you end up in Sapporo.

I fell asleep, but I was indeed smiling!

I’ll pants this thing all day in my Fit, sway bar or not. I realize the shortcomings of the rear suspension in my car, and it could be better, but even without the rear sway bar it holds better at the edge than most other small cars I’ve driven.

That’s the strangest shade of beige I’ve ever seen. People who buy Toyotas don’t do fun, they don’t do interesting, they certainly don’t chuck a car into a corner, down a gear and bang the gas. They don’t buy cars, they buy appliances, that’s why they buy Toyotas.

Preferably with a CarMax warranty.

Back in 1990 or so, we brought my grandmother’s Valiant home after she died. The car didn’t have AC and it was a hot day, so my dad suggested I open the vent. The vent is a large door under the dash with a handle on it, turn 90 degrees and pull. I was about 10 and couldn’t reach it easily without stretching face first

OR, you could make the parts to the required tolerances and bolt them on. That’s what machining and manufacturing is all about. These aren’t hand extracted and woven fairy farts here, they’re pieces of metal. I don’t care what pedestal you want to put McLaren on, or what you imagine they do with parts, but they’re

So I wanna say this will be the first thing touched by Linkin Park that people with any taste will purchase, but AMG owners are just BMW drivers with a different hood ornament, so strike that.

I think we’ve made a mistake here. The mechanic is using tools meant for the manufacturing process, they have no place in the shop. What do you do when you do a clutch, at most? You check runout and surface condition of the flywheel, so a mag base and dial indicator — whack in a new pilot bearing and you bolt a clutch

Ok, well, as a machinist, I’ll say that temperature is something you keep in mind no matter what you’re working on, or what it’s made of. A basically machine shop is basically climate controlled for this reason. There’s a term for a machine shop that isn’t climate controlled, it’s called a garage or a shed depending

It can’t be an alternative, that’s how they make them. Standridge uses a surface grinder that looks large enough to put a small car on to bring it close, but finishing is done by lapping, which is another grinding process.

Fuck New Jersey.

Mine was a ‘91 Subaru Justy. 2 door. I had to get out to fill up the 4 door, because door. It had a lock on the filler door, which was a bit fumbly at first, but you get used to it.

I know, for 2 thou he could use a wooden cutting board.

To be fair, every single thing expands and contracts with temperature. To be more fair, most things that need to be kept dimensionally accurate are kept at a specific temperature all of the time. If you want to be picky, you keep the plate at the temperature it was when it was machined last, or have it lapped in your

Cast iron used to be very common, and is a perfectly suitable material. Generally cast iron surface plates are relatively small, however. Granite has a few things going for it. It doesn’t rust, which grows in size, and removes material when it is cleaned off, and it has a porous surface which allows small bits of

I’m not sure what you mean, entirely. The accuracy required for this clutch is +/- 0.001", which is practically a mile on Mr. Hines’ low quality surface plate. For an idiot who thinks he can fix it with a grinder, it’s quite a lot smaller. I don’t know why you think this is an insane tolerance, unless you got it

I used to have a car I could fill without getting out of the car. Oh, the terrible looks people would give me on a cold Monday morning in December.

I moved VTC moved up, VTEC RPM moved down and traction control turned off by default. I want to move fuel cut up but I know I shouldn’t. I’m not trying to rice out my Fit, but it is much nicer to drive. If only I could change cruising RPM with a software change.
