Since you love studies, how about look at how effective the sex registries are for identifying risk level and likelihood of reoffending. They’re useless.

So then why don’t we keep a master list of every criminal and their criminal act? Why is sexual assault different? Maybe I don’t want a robber or mugger in my business. Without a list, I have no idea though. If someone committed murder and moves into my neighborhood, how come I can’t look them up on a list?

Rapists, in general, are most definitely not similar to serial killers. They’re closer to domestic abusers.

In addition to prison time, sex offenders need a great deal of counceling and therapy. They need trained professionals. Such professionals, in conjunction with probation officers can make the decisions you’re asking about.

So because he’s on a list, he can’t meet a woman at a bar and rape her?

So an adult on the sex offender registry won’t be able to rape again? They won’t be able to go into a bar, convince a woman to go home with him or to a hotel and rape her?

Considering that we know for fact that murderers can be rehabilitated and even go on to become pillars of their community and advocate against violent crime, holding all murders in prison is an incredible burden on society. We know, for fact, people age out of crime. Even people with serious records tend to stop…

Statutory rape most definitely does not equal pedophilia. Sexually assaulting a child is different from statutory rape. That’s why it’s two different charges and sentences.

Such restrictions prevent most people from living a productive life after they’ve paid their due to society. Just because some can, doesn’t make such restrictions acceptable.

That has zero to do with this case or any case dealing with an adult man on the list for raping an adult woman.
