I think you make a good point that, in general, we treat convicted felons so harshly after they’ve served their prison sentence that any felony conviction is a life sentence of poverty and ostracism. The sexual offender list expands that treatment.

No, not unless you’re one of those people who believe in the biblical “eye for an eye” model of justice. Not all of us do. Many of us believe in a justice model that is more focused on rehabilitation than punishment and revenge.
