I submit that Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman is the weirdest show to have ever been on television. In your face, Twin Peaks and H.R. Pufnstuf.

I first saw Soap as part of a TV Land programming block called “The Kitschen.” It aired alongside Mary Hartman, Mary Hartman and Fernwood 2 Night. I remember thinking WHAT IS THIS WEIRD, GLORIOUS TELEVISUAL DELIGHT AND WHERE HAS IT BEEN ALL MY LIFE?!

Katherine Helmond was such a batty delight on Soap. <3
