There are plenty of perfectly legit NYC restaurants that have gone “no tip,” including the whole Danny Meyer empire (Gramercy Tavern, Union Sq. Cafe, The Modern). Also, high-end sushi restaurants in NYC (like Sushi Yasuda) are no-tip in the Japanese tradition.

I suspect this is all because of the open warrant. Probably Grant was being vetted by the secret service and the warrant was discovered. That puts cops in a bind - they don’t want to not arrest him (because the guy’s not white so the rule of law is important), but they know that they’ll look bad if they do arrest him.

I can’t wait till we get a movie about a false rape accusation,” said no one ever this fucking guy.

You read/hear the whole quote, and you can tell it’s of someone for whom English is a second language.

What if your per-ride pay results in better overall wages? Like servers at restaurants, particularly high end ones might make $100 a table.

A smaller menu was the key to McDonalds success decades ago.

The question is, is that what the workers want?

The most glaring problem in the supreme court’s ABC test seems to be B -

He’s saying “I’m grateful for the small number of people I currently interact with online, as it gives a shred of meaning to my pathetic existence. But I used to make money and now I don’t.”

“Why isn’t this review like the other reviews on this site, which I think are all bad? Isn’t that a double standard?”

Poor Todd. The Bridge to Nowhere was inside of their hearts, all along.

Your mom’s probably weathering some extreme criticism at this very moment.

Judging by the number of your supporters on this site (which I have rarely visited) this is the poor man’s Qanon site.

I mean, yeah, looks like what must be the state of the art for a theme-park show. I’ve seen the light-up led suits used to nice effect like five years ago, now you add choreographed animation and you get...this.

All of the dog hobbyists I know are quite opinionated about what’s good for their dogs. The idea that there are people who don’t do what their veterinarians recommend (or shop around until they find a vet with policies that they like) is not news to me at all.

Interesting that the story doesn’t seem to mention Uber’s worst transgression, as far as I’m concerned - putting unsafe autonomous cars on the public streets of Phoenix. So much for “putting people first.” (More like putting people in harm’s way.)

It’s funny that he didn’t think about the ambiguity in all of this. On one hand, he probably does intend to say “this combination toilet / water fountain isn’t really like you imagine it.” But to most people it sounds like “I enjoy drinking out of toilets.”

Yeah, it seems to me that secular humanism is where the values and morality are at, these days. Conservatives are busy acting like cruel and selfish jagoffs and deriding anyone who won’t do the same.

Remedial question: Why does Johnson want a snap election? How could that benefit him at this point?  I assume the answer to this question will also explain why parliament doesn't want him to get it.

pick up some random shit you find? what? Do you *actually* do this?
