Yeah, I love the music nerd skits. That one and the one where Jordan harasses Keenan (playing a DJ) about his “old school” taste. And the Party Don’t Stop video.

I just finished Meet Me in the Bathroom

One thing I’ve never understood was the hype around “House of Jealous Lovers” - I just can’t stand it. It reminds me of the No Wave scene, with tremendous conceptual buzz but tracks that sound like shit.

Oh my god Hometown is so fucking good.

Isn’t Fette Sau one of the places where you basically buy by the pound?  So whatever is on that twitter tray is more-or-less the person’s own fault?

Man, the early 2000s were the high-water mark for me in terms of music. Emusic.com was still good, so you could hoover up most of this stuff for cheap. Buying CDs at shops was still fun. The press was hip - I can remember reading about the Walkmen in the New York Times and LCD in the Voice. And I had a few hipster

All rock is for dads now, that’s just a fact.  The kids like bubblegum and hiphop and weird internet shit.

Oh of course. The thing I said in the first part is basically still how I feel.

This is why I feel compelled to take the customer copy of the receipt every time (even though it is just going to junk up my wallet until I shred it.)  Not taking the receipt signals that you don’t care what they actually punch into that machine.

If they are only thinking of their own direct experience I would expect that many liberals of comfortable means enjoy tipping. Makes you feel generous (and “progressive”) to leave a good tip.

Related - if I leave cash on the table and leave, I’m paranoid that another diner will swipe it (and this could be the whole check, not just the tip.)

My fantasy scenario - the house flips, Trump keeps pandering (incompetently) to the center, and he gets beat in the GOP primary. In order for this to work he needs to be challenged by a GOP candidate who is not obviously a pathetic loser, of course, so not Rubio or Cruz.

Heck, you could mount an old cellphone full of music on the back of the passengers seat and let them play with it. That’s what I would do.

Oh, it is certainly worth a look.  I heartily recommend the extension in general and blocking this guy specifically.

Yeah, me too. I buy new things and then trade them on swapadvd.com (in the US). I rip the DVDs to digital and watch them on Plex.

In NYC the narrative should be that we have a decrepit, underfunded and poorly managed subway system that is not running at its true capacity, and the ride-share craze (plus traffic calming, bike lanes, and construction everywhere) is simultaneously clogging the streets.

Well, don’t enjoy it too much.

Oy, I was so fucking mad when they ran editorials against wifi underground, “because the subway should be your place to unplug.”

Seriously. The downside is that I will probably be oblivious when the next Colin Ferguson enters the car and starts shooting everybody, but at least I’ll go out while enjoying some Aesop Rock.

Well, I will say this: On some phones it seems difficult to line the stupid thing up with your ear hole. I personally find talking on my Galaxy S7 pretty uncomfortable.
