Those with cars in Momentum’s repair shop, like local resident Eugene Porterfield, were seemingly left without any clue on how he’ll get his car back, or when.

Yes, I wasn’t trying to suggest that clearing out a couple of miles of brush was practical. I just don’t see the danger being significantly reduced unless you did something that drastic. It’s going to burn again, and its going to rain down burning embers down wind. The higher the wind the further they’ll carry.

I grew up in southern California in the 60's and 70's. I moved east in 1991. I agree. There were plenty of 100,000 - 200,000 acre fires while I lived there. Not every year, but often. And there were an incredible number of smaller fires every year.

Oh you New Yorker’s think the world revolves around New York.

Pretty good steering angle too, I’m guessing. Drop that thing down a few inches, add a small turbo and you’ll be the crowd favorite at any grass roots drift event.  Until of course you crash into the door of that shiny Supra or RX-7 that someone sunk $30k into.

I came here only to make sure someone posted this.

Of course my thinking during the movie was why on earth did this idiot buy a Valiant with a slant six for his cross country work? Any mid level muscle car from the era could have popped right around that truck. Of course that would weaken the movie.

Formula Drift Finals at Irwindale.

What is 3 sets, 6 tires or 12 tires?

Damn. Me too.

I think he already got somewhat of a pass. If this was any other CEO that manipulated the stock price like that the SEC would have taken about 10 minutes, not a month and a half.

Ah, the event was on Saturday and Sunday and I haven’t seen you report on the actual event. Did they banish you from attending after you insulted them?

Basically if you set it up on asphalt you can set up stands that can view most of the track. It makes for better spectating. Better spectating makes for a more financially sustainable race event.

So you are clear the order of posting was Elizabeth Werth’s “... It is not okay ...” article on the evening of the 14th, then my response above the morning of the 15th, then later that evening of the 15th she finally posted the article on her race success.

Ha ha ha ha!

Never heard of her until you wrote about it. Looks like she won the pole and finished second. But that didn’t get her a Jalopnik headline.
