Doubtful, but Darwyn Cooke used this idea to great effect in The New Frontier. After all, "amazonian" doesn't mean short.

And he was used as recently as JMS's run before the reboot, most notable for daring to put clothes on her, so he would be be known to anyone who knows Wonder Woman.
The best description of Millar I read was that he writes stuff that angry 15-year-old boys love. And I actually enjoyed The Ultimates, but that's because I saw for the satire it was.
Normally, yes. But in this case the satire from the first is completely intact so clearly he had some input.

It's more the choice of the music. The song he chose doesn't go well with the scene. He single-handedly shows why there are people who make their living picking the right song for the right scene in movies.
