These are really great. They kind of have a cartoonish look to them (painted, maybe?). They don't all particularly look photo-quality-real, but I think many of them look better, given that you can clearly see the massive amount of work that went into them.

The image, your username, just.... this is all so perfect.

Usually, I hate it when you guys reverse-loop a gif like this.

Good points. I guess I'm skeptical after seeing a bunch of stoners make a solar oven and then cook a pizza in it. It... did not go well.

Et tu, USA?

OK, I get why privacy is so important, but does this choice do anything but control how relevant your ads are? Like you mention, that data is still being collected; you're only controlling what ads are based on it. It seems like the only way to stop this is to not use Facebook at all AND use something like ghostery.

While an awesome idea, my issue is how long you have to leave food out in the "danger zone"—that range from 40° to 140° (f) where bacteria grows like crazy. Technically, you can leave the dogs in that range for ~4 hours before you have a problem, and technically this _can get up to_ 170°, but that's not a lot of room

If you're worried about your food being safe to eat, you probably shouldn't eat hot dogs. Or Pringles.

This isn't a surprising list. Amusing, but not surprising

That's... actually kind of morbidly beautiful to have someone's life story wrapped up in, well, them.

I think the lead image pretty much beat you to it.

Is linkedin worth it to use? I set up an account a little while ago, but haven't taken the time to even really get into it. My first impression was using the android app, which was... not impressive. Their splash screen is nice, but everything past it is broken.

Sometimes it's fun to watch people like that. I had a coworker that was *convinced* that the U.S. had caused the earthquake in Japan. How? Well, with Russia's help: you see, there are giant magnets buried around the world for just this purpose. Ooookay... why? "Isn't it obvious? To get back at them for the whole

What about those of us that don't have a bit.ly account directly, but use services powered by bit.ly?

Oh man, you know they were just giggling at the USDA while they were testing the best way to microwave foil.

I just installed XBMCbuntu (http://xbmc.org/download/) to a thumb drive, replacing the hard drive. It made my HTPC a lot quieter. (I have all my media on a server, so storage space isn't an issue. Just... electricity usage.)

fantastically done, too! I spent a lot of time trying to figure out if this was skin or a shirt!

If my company had a policy like that, I wouldn't take it. However, if my boss pulled me aside and said "I'll give *you* $XXX to GTFO.", I'd probably assume I wasn't a long-term employee and take it.

Yeah, that was my thought. I pretty much did the equivalent of walking into a room, making an awesome comment, yelling at the wall for a bit, and leaving while people scratch their heads. I figured it was more "strange" than "fail", but still...
