“Nguyen was allowed by Judge Elisha Fink of the Washtenaw County 14-A District Court to post a $10,000 bail for his release, a decision harshly criticized by county prosecutor Eli Savit.”

Great fucking idea from the judge: release a man who’s now got nowhere to go and who has poor enough judgment and impulse control to shoot at a kid. I live in Ypsi, I can’t believe this shit.
Meanwhile, a judge has ordered Le-Nguyen not to return home
What’s absurd to me here is that someone went to a business that is built on the principle of exploiting margins by getting a maximum profit for a minimum cost, and then complained that they didn’t like how those principle affected them.
It’s often the reaction of somebody whose life DOES have bigger problems, but they can’t fix them, and this seems like a problem small enough to fix, or at least to have a go at fixing, so their energy gets redirected from the big problem to the little problem.
Even if we allow for the idea that one’s personality while drunk or high is not reflective of who they are deep down, the principle still applies. If you do shitty things while under the influence, then you have no business being under the influence. Recreational drugs are not required for a full and high-quality life.
I hate this excuse so much. There are thousands of people out there with substance abuse issues that don’t physically assault people. There are thousands of people with past trauma that don’t assault people. Now, are those thousands of people 100% peachy keen all the time? Probably not. But if it was just the drugs or…
I mean, I think their own shitty perspectives were what opened them up to “harassment and wide-spread hate”. Improving the lives of people working in the construction industry is a great thing, but making life worse for women spending time in public isn’t the way to do it.
My partner is a lawyer and works for one of the biggest commercial landlords in the Greater Toronto Area. They are amazed that these bozos, 1) think they have even a chance at winning the suit because Fritz’s post was a comment on publicly made/available comments, and 2) don’t have the sense to see that no developer…
This is true - it’s also true that a line at the drive-thru makes for additional decision-making pressure. If you’ve ever yelled at Wheel of Fortune and cannot understand how the person could say the exact same letter the previous person said or was unable to guess a word of phrase when only one obvious letter is…
Except McDs sells all of their sodas for $1 so the majority of people don’t mind getting more and paying the same, in fact, that increased their sales.
Look, if I want the small combo, I will specifically say “THE SMALL COMBO”
Do not, I repeat, do not let this person near a Starbucks.
I too would like to go to their place of work and flip out when they try to give me the middle of the road option instead of the least expensive by default.
“It’s the principle about it.”
Click 2 then emailed Burger King’s corporate office about Tharp’s concerns. No one replied
I use to wonder the same thing about Hitler then Trump came along and I got watch it happen in person. The answer I think is real basic. The vast majority of Trump people; that’s what they look like. Pudgy, pasty, white people who are dumb as bricks. They look at this dude who is just as or even more mediocre than…
every time I see a moderately high res picture of him it still blows my mind—how can ~40% of the population see everything that I see in that picture—the small pale hands, glowing orange foundation, bad combover, ill-fitting suits, tubby body, etc.—and think that that projects or exemplifies strength, leadership,…
We’re missing a great opportunity to make Trump’s idiot followers start wearing their pants backwards to own the libs.
Exactly. The amount of potential energy stored in a 55l tank @ 6000 PSI is enormous. Just be grateful that if anything should happen you’d likely be turned into a pink mist before your brain has a chance to register any pain.
