This is a lift malfunction. Some states require mandatory annual inspections others at a longer interval some states not at all. My guess is that Georgia does not require inspections.

agreed. i had forgotten that but in retrospect the shift pattern is awkward as well as shifting with the left hand. plus i had no time to signal. i guess i’ll never qualify for bimmer ownership!

Local high school has a required course called Money Matters. It is just as you described, a shallow but important dive into the realm of finance, credit, time and options. An eye opener for students who take it seriously. For those that don’t, well that’s another sucker born .......

Drove a manual rental in Scotland on VaCa. Can confirm it takes some mental energy to pull off. Made the wife crazy but she did her part to help me out. Doing evasive maneuvers as well would have been very interesting.
