This is all an elaborate ruse to flush out insane Celtics fans

Where’s the Anthony Davis post, Barry? I came here hoping for a honeypot for insane ‘Tics fans
As long as you don’t go around telling people the Pyramids were used to store grain!
If I worked with anyone who followed sports I’d suspect you were one of them
Don’t tell me you’re going to use it all commuting in from Vaughan, or something
Hey you! Mindfully treasure every moment of your life! But also, uh, if you could turn off your adblocker and clink on every article about how the Lakers should trade for some retread, we’d appreciate that too.
The thing about video games (and, spoiler, any other pursuits if you’re dedicated enough to this worldview) is that while some may appear to be more valid uses of time than other - nobody will look at you funny for playing RDR2 ten hours a week the way some will when you tell them you spent your evening on a Civ3…
Those relegation games would have the atmosphere of the NBA finals (you know, before the Warriors) though
“Sorry, you lost too many games this year, you’re in the NCAA now.”
That’s one hell of a leap you’ve made there.
Why not keep Kamara in the team, play him alongside Mitrovic, then sell the documentary rights?
They were great in the 80s, though
Calder Trophy, the Calder Cup is for the AHL playoffs winner
I don’t know about Holland but I think the Blackhawks picks proved more that you can get really good outcomes when you give yourself a lot of draft picks to work with (obviously winning the lottery to pick Patrick Kane is nice too).
For sure. He got hired into an easy job in the sense that the “top player for the next decade” box was already checked, but in probably any other sense the job in Edmonton is tougher than most for a whole bunch of reasons.
Mike Millbury is going to beat you with a shoe if he finds out you’re tarnishing his, uh, impressive record as a GM
The dysfunction of the Oilers organization is absolutely a factor. I don’t think you can say “Actually, Chiarelli was good” (I’m not saying you are), but the context of his time in Edmonton was that a laughingstock organization lucked into the best player in a decade and thought they could replace the GM (and anyone…
Most of the most critical parts of that roster arrived before Chiarelli, including, hilariously, some (including Chara) brought in by Jeff Gorton serving as temporary GM because the Senators would not let him go to assume responsibilities in Boston until after the draft/UFA period the year he was hired.
(That they’re dragging the names of Peter Chiarelli and Milan Lucic through the mud is just the icing on the cake.. can the organization please bring Tim Thomas out of his bunker and have him dance around firing a six shooter in the air to entertain the fans between plays?)
I know this cannot last forever, but the fact that the Oilers flunked into Connor McDavid and are still this bad is just fucking glorious. Every bit of Oilers news I gobble up like a greedy kid at Halloween, inhaling piece by piece in spite of the fact that there is a seemingly neverending supply.
