@Cenobite: I don't need an introduction to the female mind, I've had one all my life, and I don't really appreciate it being described in those terms.

@shibathedog: Yeah, that's what I was thinking. He's not really into nerdy stuff (like I am). I did just snag Infamous from the Amazon lightning deals, so I'll think about giving that to him, but maybe I'll just keep it for myself and get him Uncharted 2. Then again, he'll probably play through whatever I give him for

@Fait622: I'm the same way with being intrigued by this game, but I don't think I'd like it due to the story. If this was a movie, I would steer clear. I hate when I leave a movie feeling depressed and so I avoid "sad" movies. The idea of playing through 10 movies worth of content just to end every session with that

So, I've been keeping my eye out for good bargains for a Christmas present for the nephew. I have a $10 credit at Amazon (from NSMBW preorder), so I figure I'll order from them. I was thinking about Uncharted 2, which would be $40 with the credit, but I'm thinking I might go with this for $25 since I'm feeling pretty

@rorkimaru: I get fairly annoyed when I read reviews from women that include swooning over the characters. 1. I don't care who you find sexy. 2. As a woman who would like our demographic to feel more factored in to AAA titles, I feel like this sends mixed messages.

@Rebochan: How so? Is Fallout 3 not a male power fantasy because you can opt to play as a woman? If you are able to play the exact same game, then how would it be ruined if someone else got to play as a woman?

@D-K, Anarchist: Can you elaborate a bit? Why do you think this article is sexist and demeaning?

@Adriaan Noordzij: I definitely agree that personal challenge and improvement are necessary to drive a long-term passion in gaming, but I don't believe that "barrier to entry" needs to directly correlate with the level of challenge or difficulty of a game. How can we say that improvement is a core tenant of gaming if

@yourcitylovesyou: I like to mostly keep to myself in public as well, so I can certainly see the appeal. I agree that this must only be a piece of a larger picture.

@The Real 31: Thanks for the recommendation but I'm a Mac user and it isn't compatible. Annoying.

I do this. Honestly, the concept of watching TV on a set schedule feels outdated.

@yourcitylovesyou: Interesting article. I remember reading about hikikomori and wondering what would drive so many young people to isolate themselves. This article sheds more light on the culture.

I'm going to be visiting my hometown for Christmas/New Years and having all that time off work while being away from my consoles feels like as good an excuse as any to get a PSP. I'm looking for some advice from PSP owners.

@Bouzi...not a graphics whore!: I find the GOTY edition to be a lot more buggy than the original edition. Save often. Usually, the framerate would drop off before the game totally froze. If the framerate starts dropping, I recommend immediately saving the game and quitting. For me, this is a lot less annoying that

@(Starman) Starman: What's the big deal about firewire anyway? I'm a mac user, so nothing against Apple. I just don't get why some people seem to be so passionately devoted when it seems like USB does the same thing.

@Wolfnave: Bunedoggle will send you an email when you get a reply. The emailed links don't work as well as they used to before Gawker started tracking comments, but at least it serves as an alert.

@Eseph: I use a poang chair from Ikea with the matching footrest. It's super comfy, but also supportive for long sessions. It also looks decent enough to be in the living room. I bought it as an all-around chair, but certainly with gaming in mind.

It depends on the situation. I will definitely resort to help after due diligence. However, I'm super careful when looking up tips because I hate when I get more information that the minimum I need to figure out a problem, and I hate when it's something that I should have been able to figure out.

Once when I was playing Pokemon Diamond, I noticed that a little kid in the same waiting room was also playing Pokemon. It felt like it would be too creepy to approach a little kid though.

@Curse lily: I usually play as the most badass female I can choose. I think in general female character designs look more nimble and athletic, whereas male characters look like ogres. If I play a male character, I always go for the leaner builds.
