I doubt it. Most customers opt to leave the default settings, and I have never once had a client complain about any of the described issues. I have also never experienced any of these issues in my own Volvo (which, granted, I changed to “Late” warning timing because I tend to drive aggressively), and I’ve never once

I’m pretty sure the systems in the Tesla and Cadillac also require the driver’s hand(s) on the wheel. That’s why we keep hearing stories about people buying aftermarket workarounds or jamming oranges into their steering wheels to fool the car into thinking they’re not taking a nap. Nobody has true autonomous driving

Actually the factory default setting is the medium, “Normal” setting. You can opt for “Early” or “Late” warning/intervention timing instead. You know, if you can take the five seconds and swipe on the touchscreen a couple times. Might be too much of a hardship to bother.

Truth, it is not complicated or time-consuming to change these settings. It would take less than a minute and you only do it once, not every time you drive the car. If you’ve ever in your life used a smartphone, you should be able to find the settings without consulting the owner’s manual. They’re accessed through the

Whelp, now I don’t want a burger anymore :(

LOL oh man you’re fucking hilarious. Let me educate you. Most salespeople do go over the features of the cars in detail. The percentage of people who actually pay attention to the tutorial is around 30%. Of that 30%, the percentage of people who retain the information is around 10%. There is a lot of tech to go over

This is absolutely accurate. I’m in the grays forever so no one will see any of this, but nothing makes me more infuriated than calling someone and realizing that I’m contributing to wrecking their day because some entitled asshole gave their number out, and now they’re getting hundreds of unsolicited phone calls.

Please make sure your “fake phone number” that is close to your real one is not an ACTUAL working phone number. There is nothing worse than getting a lead, calling the phone number provided, and you know who’s on the other end? Some terrified old lady who’s on the verge of tears because some asshole gave her phone

This is cool as hell. I love the pop of color under the gray sheet metal. Looks amazing!

No, they won’t. At least not at my dealership. Nobody (again, at least here) has time for that shit. You come in with a gift card voucher, we ask you straight up if you’re actually interested in the car or if you just are after the gift card. If you just want the card, we sign off on the voucher and you can GTFO,

Because it’s a dick move. Saturdays are the busiest day of the week, and the day when a salesperson has the best chance of selling a car. Salespeople get paid commission, obviously. If you come in on a Saturday just to get something for free, without even being in the market at all, you’re tying up a salesperson who

The difference in styling between the Kia and the Hyundai is more marked in person- the angle you posted of the Hyundai is probably the most flattering one available. From the side, that Hyundai is hideously disproportionate, especially everything behind the backseat windows. I have a Hyundai dealer right next door to

I have never in all my life seen a professional environment in which flip flops are acceptable, for either gender. No exposed toes is the expectation. No one wants to see anyone’s nasty feet in the workplace. Maybe this is different in places like Hawaii/Florida? I’m in the Northeast so who knows.

No Jane’s Krazy Mixed-Up Salt? I believe it’s from PA, and it was always in the CT and MA kitchens of my family growing up.

Monk’s Cafe is my personal favorite, and I drink sours a lot.

The problem is that when I go to the store and want to try a new beer, my choices are shit like Bud Lite, Coors, approximately 7,493,759,436 different IPAs, and....MAYBE two sours. Also a couple stouts, but only stupid ones, with peanut butter or cupcakes or chocolate truffles in there as well. If IPAs didn’t choke

Not sure about every manufacturer, but in Volvo models the “triple flash turn indicator” is something that can be enabled or disabled in the settings menu by the driver.

I would never own another Honda because in the 1.5 year period I owned a 1993 Honda Civic (my first car), it blew the head gasket twice and the distributor once. The most unreliable car I’ve ever had. Being stranded in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the night waiting 3 hours for AAA to send a tow truck is not

I’ve never seen a dealership where the individual salesperson has any say in a customer’s trade value. The management team does, and they could, as you say, “take the trade in at a much higher value if they so choose”...but they will only do that if they have profit in the deal to use to show you a higher value. The
