however, to prove that the child was born alive and thus within medical rescue, the prosecutors used an arcane, discredited 17th-century test in which the fetus's lungs are removed and put in liquid to see if they can float, and they floated. That was enough for Patel to be found guilty.

Neither should two convictions which logically cancel each other out be allowed.

Indiana is on the cutting edge of 17th century science and social policy, folks!

I've been following this story and it makes be both angry and scared. These types of witch hunts are getting worse and they primarily target minority women. Using a discredited test should never be allowed.

Not to make light of this but does it seem like prosecutors were watching Monty Python to come up with ways to prove the validity of the fetus?

30 years.

I hate mayo so much that i can't stand a molecule of it, much less a thin smear. That story made me gag.

Aw I love those two young ladies in your story. A lot of people have difficulty understanding the lesson that having a shouty fit isn't the way to get good service, just remembering please and thank you will usually do it. Those girls are raised well by equally well mannered parents I bet.

What, the Navy cook who fucked the dough wasn't enough?

I doubt your story. "Think Panera but the food is pretty good." That's like saying "Think McDonald's but without the hamburgers, fries, or chicken mcnuggets" or "think Taco Bell but without the tacos" or "Think Waffle House but without the suicidal depression."

I don't think I could choke down mayo and pineapple chunks...I've done a lot to hold on to jobs but I don't think my stomach would let me...I'd have to claim severe allergies and hope she believed me. Mayo hits my gag reflex all wrong, always has. A thin smear, maybe I could wait til she left to regurgitate, it makes

Hush, we'll not have this thinking business round these here parts.

Shouldn't a boy who got a girl pregnant also be exhibiting poor "discipline" by this same reasoning and also be prohibited from class?

He's really witty and even though I only tune into The Daily Show sporadically these days, I remember Trevor Noah. I also like the idea of someone not U.S. born leading the show because he wouldn't have grown up with a certain worldview toward politicians because his frame of reference is different. I think this is

Also can we talk about what an awesome legacy stewart has created? I mean given his commitment to including diverse voices, we now have wilmore and noah in time slots dominated by white guys usually. I mean, yes, we need more women in these roles too, but for now, this is a change i can get behind.

For those who don't know who Trevor Noah is, a gift from his stand up. I say Comedy Central made a good choice here.

I'm not someone who believes that anything is off limits. I have enjoyed rape jokes, incest jokes, fat jokes and AIDS jokes in comics' routines. But in order for those jokes to be funny the butt of the joke can't be people (e.g. rape victims). It has to be our messed up culture (e.g. rape culture). And of course it
