Shocking to think that people with degrees in cultural studies would be the ones who might study cultural objects like, I don't know, games? I much rather trust someone who cashes in on being a token woman decrying how oppressed men are by evil feminists.

I'm reasonably certain that if I offered to hold a stranger's baby on an airplane, I would be summarily carted off and arrested at the gate.

Like others have said, I had a hell of time figuring out who was on my team, too. I could almost hear my teammates screaming with rage as I dropped down to the very bottom of the rankings. At least I was good for capturing zones now and again before getting blown to pieces.

Oh wow, this is outstanding. Also, Princess Superstar should absolutely be a Smash Bros. character.

There's usually a fun fight club or two going on. The occasional moron, though, but what else is new?

Amazon hasn't once turned a profit in its 20 year existence, actually.

I've seen this porno before.

I'm not scared of your homophobic dad. He does sound like an asshole, though.

Your dad has friends who are gay? They must be so honored.

They may not be able to hear everything, but there could be particular sounds (maybe high-pitched ones) that cut through the noise. I was once on a flight with someone a few rows up playing a game on their cell phone without headphones. The intermittent but still very audible beeping made me insane.

Thanks for this, Stephen. I've been a lurker for some time, and your intentional effort to make Kotaku a "broadly inclusive site" has not gone unnoticed. As a gay gamer, I have found myself coming back more and more due to the variety of topics you cover, and particularly your willingness to touch the third rail.

As someone who still regularly exclaims, "Mr. Hammond, I think we're back in business!" when I solve a problem, I can relate. Thankfully for me, I am not then mauled by a velociraptor.

Seriously! Group hug time.

Well, I'm glad you settled that for us.

That quote needs to be copy/pasted all over this thread. Colorblindness as an ideal is actively harmful, while cloaking itself in warm and fuzzy egalitarianism.

I was just having a conversation with someone yesterday about suburbanites' ridiculously outsized fears about downtown Philly. Why, yes, lady from Bryn Mawr, there are black people who live here, and no, they are not going to mug you. Enjoy the Nutcracker.

It's so slimy. A family member has a small business and had the exact same situation. The first impression when you look it up on Yelp is horrible, and then you see, oh wait, here are these several dozen positive reviews! I hope they get shut down, hard.

I don't know that there's ever a valid excuse for the many levels of deception going on here, but I'm not sure that it's that over the top. The guy is a Samoan, Mormon, football player at a Catholic university. Each one of those cultures is profoundly anti-gay (with, I guess, football being the least overtly so).

Love this one. Like seemingly every one of Link's companions, she could piss me off to no end, but that farewell scene is really touching.
