I kinda felt the same when it came to Everybody Loves Raymond.

Nobody assumed that The Flash would be a hit, especially with Miller’s “issues” and the decision to basically reboot all the DC Comics properties, which was taken before the release.

A reboot wouldn’t need Richardson, because it’s obvious that at least some time in the intervening 25 years, Jill Taylor 100% would have wised up and left her asshat of a husband. I’ve never seen the show and have no idea what it’s about but I find it hard to believe that it wouldn’t be improved by the addition of a time travelling detective.
