...I’ll be in my bunk.

The olden days method of tapping the starter when all you are getting is a “click” out of turning the key no longer applies?

I consider the Sterling (Rover 827) a better looking and handling car than the Acura Legend. Unfortunately it had 80s BP build quality and a second rate dealer network.

But... wait. I’m not much of a mechanic. But to me, what you describe with the Uhaul not starting sounds an awful lot like a mostly dead battery without enough juice to spin the starter up? And a jump box would solve that...? Obviously after trying that it it continuing not to start I would have come to the conclusion

I think almost every car with start-stop has a failsafe in place that turns the feature off when the battery is low enough to not safely re-start the car.

This can’t be fixed with a jump start, as the car will just fail again as soon as the battery is out of juice.” Can’t be fixed, but it might get you down the road to a mechanic’s shop. (Might.)

If your alternator has shit the bed, causing your car to die in the road, a decent jump box can get you somewhere safe. BTDT, back when I drove older cars.

Try explaining it to the average moron while they insist on attempting it. I tried a few times over the years and they obviously thought they knew better even though their lack of success and what they must know is a deficit of automotive knowledge should tell them they’re on their back foot, so now I leave them to

Yeah, that’s what I told them as I was getting in the Uber. Thankfully it wasn’t full of my stuff when it broke.

Uhaul expects you to babysit their truck when it breaks down? I’d be outa there.

It looks a little bit like a catfish Camaro to me

The Ford Versailles over the VW Santana. During some years VW and Ford in Brazil formed a joint-venture called Autolatina, which produced these pairs of twins:

The Honda Element has always been an amazing example of what happens when you emphasize the U in SUV. Definitely moreso than it’s platform-mate, the CR-V

By all accounts, the BMW Z4 is a fantastic sports car; but it’s twin the Toyota Supra gets all the press, even if it is bad press, precisely because the Supra is a BMW z4 under the sheet metal.

US Focus and Mz3 of that period were not related.

The Fiat and Abarth are down on power since the Mazda got a bump in 2019

The Flex easily wins over it’s actual platform-mate twin, as well, which was the ungainly looking MKT.

Saturn Sky over the Pontiac Solstice. When it comes to convertibles the Sky was the nicer looking of the two. On top of that the Saturn doubled as a nice Opel GT

The early 80's Chrysler Imperial:

Should we mention which engine the Durango is equipped with? Nah. Should we mention if it’s the same engine or different from the previous Chargers? Nah.
