In my world (which is full of all kinds of oddball stuff), this car would be really cool if it had a 425 or 368 Cadillac V8 (but NOT the 4-6-8). One would just need to find a 79-81 donor car to get parts. Warm the engine up a bit and it would be so much cool, and all Cadillac still.

Every time I read one of your posts, I thank my lucky stars I live in a state where you can go out to a car that’s 50 years old, turn a wrench and the bolts actually turn and remove without drama, and also that I don’t have to have an annual tetanus booster shot to be able to drive a car. 

I used to have a Javelin and a bunch of other AMCs, but now they’re all gone and I have two Oldsmobiles now. I have no idea how to change the name, so it sticks  LOLOL

Well, that’s different....!

I will *never* understand donk culture. They will take a perfectly nice car and proceed to ruin it with stupid wheels, suspension and paint. I’ve seen nice, clean, low mileage original cars get destroyed for this crap. 

I have a 2001 WJ V8 that’s about to turn 200k miles. Transmission has been bulletproof. I’ve done one fluid change on it since 119k (it had other fluid changes before I got it), but I’ve never had an issue with it.

I remember the crash pictured, with all the cars on the hauler. Not a single one of them was strapped down or retained in any sort of way. The cars on the top level weren’t in “Park” nor were any brakes set. I just shook my head when I saw that. 

I was going to mention “CHiPs”---just about every car crash or incident ended up with an explosion that was totally uncalled for in most cases. 

This thing is ugly enough to make a freight train back up and take a dirt road...

And that’s not counting the 400+K miles on his Bertone and the 100k+ on his C70, and his other cars....

I like having nice floor mats. Given that I’ve been a barefoot driver for years, it makes for a comfy experience.
