I’m 46, have never purchased a brand new car. I buy used cars with cash and always have. I know how to work on cars so I don’t mind finding one that has an issue or two as I will buy it as a bargain, fix it, and drive it for years. That formula has worked well for me thus far.

GM killed the diesel in passenger cars after 1986. 1985 was the last available year for it. 

I obtained a rust free 1981 AMC Spirit that I determined I was going to do a 4.0 EFI swap on.

I *LOVE* Delmae! Nobody ever tries to save this particular variety of Dodge sedan and I think every one that gets saved is awesome. 

Rarity, eh? That would go out the window as soon as mods were made...

I rue that I have but one star to give 

On that shift lever, take it off and take it to a machine shop and have them machine the end and thread it so that you can simply install the shift knob. Lever will be an inch or two shorter, but you’ll likely never miss it and that solves you having to find one. 

I like these cars. I think they’re quite handsomely styled and they’re comfortable to drive. Boring? Maybe. But they are an inexpensive way to have an unusual car that’s not hard to keep running.

When Ford revised the instrument cluster in these Police Interceptors starting in about 2006, they gained an hour meter in the digital part of the cluster. This would provide you a readout showing the number of hours of just idle time the car has had. You find it by punching the trip meter button...

well, there are people who are totally without arms at all and drive successfully using their feet, so technically their hands never touch the wheel...
