Glad to see that so far (unlike whenever Deadspin posts something about women’s basketball) there are not that many commenters dropping by to tell us that they don’t care about women’s hockey.

There is plenty of ice in Canada in the summer. Yes, many arenas shut down, demand is not as high as it is in the winter and costs are higher. But Canadians are effing nuts about hockey.

Again, not saying I agree with Skid Bream’s take here: but the Larry Nassar scandal did not happen “within the women’s gymnastics program” at MSU. He has been accused by athletes from other varsity sports, and he did not work for the women’s gymnastics program at MSU. He worked for the university.

Not saying I agree with the original post, but the argument that this was a scandal “in the gymnastics division” is inaccurate. Although many of his crimes involved gymnasts, and his role with USA Gymnastics, his position at MSU was not “gymnastics doctor.” This scandal definitely taints the whole Athletic Department…
