It’s almost like Blizzcon is going on or something, huh?

They gave Lucio a hockey skin anyway.

The issue with third person is that eliminations become far less impactful, especially for hitscan heroes.

I think they perhaps focused on individual DPS heroes a bit too much in the games I watched, though I think they still need some work on transitioning between characters so it’s easier to follow when they mostly focus on a single player. And of course they’re going to focus on playmakers and stars, who tend to be on

South Korea vs US in the quarter-finals yesterday was incredibly exciting, especially the tie on Hanamura. Easily the most intense game of Overwatch I’ve ever seen. It’s a shame they were in the same bracket, it would have made for some amazing finals.

An excellent change that will help smooth out the leveling experience greatly. As it stands, you often outlevel content in zones, which makes it difficult to progress through the story unless you want to beat up weak enemies to get meager exp. Now you’ll really be able to do stuff at your own pace.

They confirmed that we’ll be confronting Azshara, so it’s likely the story will build to Old Gods.

I think the most likely thing they’ll do is roll them out as progression servers, deploying patches and expansions at set intervals. Having a static, null-growth version of the game would be very unhealthy.

It’s a shame they didn’t reuse the assets and rebuild it as a proper sequel to Dimensions, which is an excellent “little” (50+ hour) retro throwback RPG that essentially feels like an upgraded FFV with a narrative closer to FFIV and FFVI.

Mostly good season, but some pretty big sticking points for me:

Just throwing this out there re: Will. Being sensitive and artistic isn’t queer. I’m straight and immediately related to Will for the aforementioned reasons, plus having an absentee asshole father and an overprotective mom. I know this is 2017 and things are different nowadays, but for me, that assumption meant

I suppose that’s why they’re working on improving the viewing experience, huh?

I know this is about Crusader Kings II modding specifically, but since they’ve clearly failed to completely hit the mark with any official licensed video games...

Sounds like time for someone with big pockets to start the youporn of crowdfunding.

This is so dumb. If they don’t want players spamming them, make it so that they can’t be spammed.

Well, the guy built a website primarily for games journalists, and developed it into a community with strong “sjw” leanings, with mods banning and even allegedly threatening to dox people who didn’t fall in line. NeoGAF might as well be a college campus. These are the modern day witch hunts — whether the accusations

Thanks for bringing that up. I remember them discussing this during an engineering panel at Blizzcon, I think it was, but I couldn’t remember the details.

It’s not just that their codebase has changed completely since the days of Classic and BC. That alone would be a tremendous hurdle for their coders, given how much undocumented spaghetti code there is and the fact that their staff has changed countless times since then, meaning there are entire sections of the code

No, Blizzard needs to concentrate their focus on the live game to make it as good as they can, and if possible, find ways to attract “legacy players” back to the current version of the game.

For those who didn’t catch the announcement of their OWL team name, logo, and colors.
