Again, that only works so long as the majority believes that the law works.

The rule of law only works as long as we respect the law and the process in crafting it. As soon as trust and respect in that is eroded, then the constitution is just a piece of paper, rather than a set of ideals to guide the government.

When a large portion of the electorate loses faith in the process, the only alternative is the use of force. Our government could easily use the military to suppress dissent and keep itself in power, but it would no longer be a Democracy.

It’s not about him having power to change the results. It’s about being the bigger person and saying you gave it all you got but ultimately you lost and you can accept that (even if it’s just for public appearances).
