Yes, they are both red coupes, very observant.

NASCAR aims to reduce the louder noise levels of the NextGen cars to more appropriate levels for drivers, crews and fans”

Seriously. This sounds like a “fancy modern cars” problem, not an EV problem. Light clusters have been driving up repair costs for a while now. A minor crunch in the front corner is instantly $7000 between just the bumper and headlight.

I don’t know if this is a regional thing but I never saw it until I got to Northern Virginia. People will right turn on red cutting in front of me from my left. Once they even somehow did it from TWO lanes over, ON A TWO-LANE ROAD.

Plus the bridges have like 10'6" clearance so one smart guy in a U-Haul can stop the whole road for hours.

I once passed one quite aggressively, in a Lotus Elise. I felt a little bad about it, but on the other hand they were going 40 mph on the highway and I didn’t know it was a funeral procession until I got to the front of the line.

I hate funeral processions. Nobody is that important.

ok, you’re not wrong. I knew some pedant would call me out for not including an arbitrarily long technical disclaimer on that statement. But there’s not a lot of free flourine gas floating around in normal atmospheric conditions causing EVs to stay on fire.

But because EV fires aren’t fueled by oxygen from the air, this approach doesn’t work.”

First of all a LOT of people live in apartments (or condos or rowhouses...), and second of all infrastructure is a big deal even if you don’t, because you still need to get massive amounts of electricity to every interstate service station, and plenty of hotels, just for a start. Plus the grid isn’t necessarily ready

How do you like the Polestar? It’s pretty much the only sub-$100k EV I actually like and would consider buying.

Like, can you imagine Daniel Day Lewis holding onto the side of an A400 cargo plane during takeoff? I’d like to see him try.

While you are right that he (almost) always just plays Tom Cruise doing different things, he’s probably been the best physical/stunt actor in hollywood for a decade, but The Academy (tm) is too far up its own ass to ever recognize that as part of the “craft” of acting.

There’s side exhaust, and then there is SIDE EXHAUST

I think I was one of the few to actually like the Egoista...

My point is if you take out the OEM chips entirely, there *isn’t* any Dodge crypto. You’re just left with a chemical battery and elecric motor in need of new controllers. Probably not something any old shop on the street can do, but shouldn’t be too hard for specialty places.

The kind of person who can afford an RTX4080 is not the kind to sweat spending another $80 on some extra RAM.

Restrictor plates, but for aerodynamics.

Right? “All Good Things...” is one of the best TV finales ever, IMO.

Everyone just forgot about Mass Effect, huh?
