Road Atlanta and VIR would also be good. Neither have any particularly “quaint” character at the track or the surrounding area that would be “ruined” by F1 coming to town, although their actual track layouts have a good “classic” feel. VIR is a little out of the way, but Road Atlanta is not far from a major hub…

I think the “badness” of tracks really depends on what category you’re talking about. It’s hard to fault ovals for being ovals, because that’s exactly what they were called to be when built, even though they’re totally boring compared to Spa, for example. But there can certainly be good or bad ovals as well.
