Actually, Land Rover Range Rover is the same as saying Fiat 500. Brand, model. Irsksome would be Tata Motors Land Rover Range Rover. Manufacturer, Brand, Model, like your FCA and VAG references above.

Saw one on the road this week. Sinfully ugly. And yes, the first thing that came to my mind was the Nissan Murano Cross Cabriolet. No one made a Pontiac Aztek clone; why did Land Rover feel so inclined to make this Nissan clone?

Unfortunately, I once drove a car about 15 miles with almost no oil in it. Engine ran fine for years afterwards.

What does a CVT have to do with this discussion? You mentioned the Cruze would come with a 9 speed auto or a 6 speed manual, and then you talk about the fuel efficiency of a CVT.

With that Momo steering wheel, I think you’re down one of those two airbags that you referenced. Glad you got to enjoy a fun ride.

Hummer H3 has an electric brake booster

I had one and wasn’t a fan. It was using about 1..5-2 qts of oil every 5000 miles. That pattern continued from 0 miles to about the mid 20s when I got rid of it. It desperately needs a 6th speed for any highway driving.

My insurance went up $0.80/year going from a 2011 Infiniti G37S to a 2015 Camaro 2SS convertible.

Now playing

I’ve watched first gen Touregs and Cayennes offroad. 6:40 mark in the video

And 80s cars weighed hundreds of pounds less than they do today. Modern Japanese cars are closer to 140hp, not like the 98hp of the carbed 1987 Honda Accord LX.

I think they improved it vs. the original design, especially the tail end, but yeah, it’s still ugly. Would you pick this over a GMC Denali, Caddy Escalade? Sometimes the butt ugliness goes away when you only view it from the driver’s seat.

It’s not directly about the money to keep it running. It’s when money > enjoyment derived from the vehicle. For example, my ‘05 Civic Si was an annoying vehicle, so simply making the payments was outweighed by the frustration of driving that car.

Varying the amount of time that the batter rests can affect cookies as well. I rest my choc chip cookie batter 36 hours before baking

Nice list! So many small common issues, like the heat shield rattle, that many owners don’t think about. The hubcap rattle in the comments is another good one.

I think the ‘95 is a plus for you but the gas engine hurts the value. The ‘95 diesels are liked because the vehicles were simple and reasonably reliable, and they had that diesel torque. Maintenance on H1s is brutal, as you’ve learned. But I’m stoked that you’ve been the proud owner of an H1!

Been meaning to ask - what year is your H1? As you know, values range greatly depending on the model year. Glad you rejected that Carmax offer.

I think she meant middle of the plane, not sit in a middle seat.

I like the fastback look. Had Honda penned something like this instead of that Crosstour shape, they might've had a decent vehicle.

Umm, did you take my dog?

Paddle shifters with a CVT. No amount of "manualness" will address the awfulness of a CVT
