I just don’t understand how a brand known for quality and refinement wants to tie themselves to a brand that is very much not known for those things. Nor do I understand why they would disrupt their parts and service operation with products totally unrelated to the rest of their product family.

I own a GTI. Lemme tell you, this is one buyer for whom that ugly-ass Mk3 Scirocco would not have been a consideration! Have you seen that fucking toad in person?!?! The Mk1 Scirocco is one of the best-looking cars of the decade, and the fine-looking Mk2 is nothing to shake a stick at either.
