I see Antonov (and Soviet Russia in general) as more of a copycat designer. The An-225 is, in my eyes, an enlarged 747/C5 hybrid. The Soviets also pretty much copied America's space Shuttle, and even the Concorde. Have you heard about the Concordeski?

Yes.

So.... Is this a plane wreck or a train wreck?

The business (Lufthansa) closed his loophole, and the dumbass came right back. If he hadn't tried again, it seems like the airline would have just let it go. So it serves him right.

If you're gonna be a dick and exploit the loophole, and then keep doing it (buying a new ticket after the first was canceled) then yes, you deserve to be shamed.

I really see literacy as an essential right of every human being - like clean air and water, a roof over our heads, the right to worship in any form or fashion we choose. I am a person for whom the ability to read was once punishable by whipping or death in this country. We take literacy very seriously in my family.

Because providing an "excellent" experiences is a good way to get the high-dollar traveler to buy your tickets. You, the poor person in coach, isn't of much concern to United. They realized, as have most airlines, that you will (essentially) buy whichever ticket is cheapest on Kayak. The premium cabins is where they

i've known a few people with different addictions and issues, and they are always quick to throw out their sob story and the "i'll be 100% honest and doing the right thing" card because it's an easy way to get you, again

You want to talk airport scams, how about Hudson News charging me $6.75 for a box of Mike and Ike's that had way too many greens for my taste— now that's a scam! Well, so was this guy's thing, but still.

And Mike refuses to seek help/treatment and will not admit he can't do this on his own. I offered several times in the thread to locate a GA meeting close to him so he can start the process of getting better but he has not hit rock bottom yet. This won't end well for him.

'Skirt Steak' sounds like a trans-phobic slur in waiting.

I remember when I was barely old enough to have moved out of my dad's house, I ordered a steak well-done at a restaurant. I'd never liked steak, but had been taught that meat always had to be well-done or you'd get salmonella. The waiter warned me against it. I'm glad I listened, because now I love good steak.

Well done? Ew.

Yeeaaah, she doesn't have a case. Everything has been dealt with. The bartender was fired. Not really sure what else could be done.

Side point that wasn't important enough to actually be in the post: I know this area very well — I'm from Mount Pleasant, the next neighborhood over from Adams Morgan — and it isn't an area I would've expected to see this story come out of. You'd be hard-pressed to find a more live and let live neighborhood in DC.

I was a tour guide at a fancy college. I was often assigned to VIPs and one time I gave a tour to Important Man V and his dad. His great-grandfather, IM II had bought us an enormous gym, while his grandfather IM III gave our rival a gym, and the local zoo was given something in the collective IM name. IM V showed up

I am 90% sure that most of the people who are still really mad about the move are probably more upset about what it represented. It showed the NFL as being more about money than about heritage, which irked people. It showed that some out-of-town drunkard can rip the heart out of a city through years of mismanagement

Doctor: Usually we don't let patients take pictures after surgery, but we'll let ya slide this time

isn't it possible he just showed up to the surgery with his hair already styled?

If that is not the douchiest of douchebag pictures, I don't know what is. I mean, he has the douche hair, the thumbs up, and the half duck-face.
