Same. I have pondered what I’d do if I one the lottery and one thing I’d do is buy every car I’ve ever thought of driving just to experience them all. Maybe turn it into a series where if I see a “For Sale” sign, I have to buy it and drive it for a week. Now, that is what I think of when I hear “car guy”.

That’s range anxiety, done and dusted.”

Great, now just to get the charging time down. Then that pesky infrastructure problem...

Trunk, regrettably.

Avalon is done for. This is the replacement in that “segment”. There really aren’t any full size sedans left on the market, so I would expect more of these “sedans” to make their way to the US in the coming years.

It’s replacing the Avalon as a flagship sedan that’s not a sedan as far as I can tell. It looks nice, but I don’t know that there is much of a market for it.

This is probably not the kind of answer the author of the article was looking for, but it’s the best one.

I borrowed a friend’s older model, mechanically sound, manual 2 door Wrangler with the vinyl roof and doors for a few days. It was a terrible experience, and easily one of the worst vehicles I have ever driven. I’d rather drive a beat up shitbox Nissan Altima.

Alfa. More prcisely the Alfa 2000.

Or you could save about $50K and just go for a hike.

Jeep Wrangler.

Years ago, when the Trump Limo came up in a prior jalopnik article, I put forward that Donald Trump is in fact the greatest Jalop to have ever lived, and even as detestable as the idea may be I continue to hold that idea is true.

The Jaguar 6 definitely deserves a spot on this list.

Racing pedigree? Powered some of the fastest cars of the world in its day? Good enough for a 43 year production life? Just looks really pretty? The Jaguar XK has all of these traits, and I silently judge anyone who transplants a Chevy 350 in its place.

God damnit and now it’s too late to edit it 😂

What I say now, I say as a Mopar fan. It’s Chrysler. Not Chrysler the brand but Chrysler the Corporation and its successors, FCA and Stellantis. They are the absolute masters of the meaningless “special edition”. Sales dropping one quarter? Gin up a decal package and CALL IT A SPECIAL EDITION SOMEONE WILL BUY IT.

Jalopnik: “I wish car makers took more risks. Every car is a boring, gray CUV.”
