That’s what a roof rack is for. Give them goggles if you are feeling charitable.

I’m afraid these examples are a bit too provincial. We need to include vehicles from all over the world. So in that vein, I nominate the Century:

LOL. Right? I shut that shit down the second anyone acts like I am their chauffeur.

Best car for passengers is the one where they shut the hell up and enjoy the ride because they are passengers and as such they have no say, no rights and no power. No visors to leave down, radio controls are out of reach, vents will stay where the driver puts them and their arms are kept out of the way of wherever the

Thank you for sharing this interesting information. My dad and I used to work on Type 4s, specifically the wagons. I think he got bored with the automatic and moved a manual from a two door type 412 to his personal 412. The kids at school would make fun of that car but I loved listening to the shifting of the gears.

I had a 90PS, for a bit more pep than your mother’s car. Cavernous interior given the external dimensions, completely removable rear seats, deep boot, 70 MP(UK)G, sharp handling, surprisingly quick off the mark - torquey diesel in a vehicle that weighed the same as a handbag saw to that. Aluminium spaceframe

I had an A2 1.4TDi 90PS. It was brilliant, possibly one of the best ‘real world’ cars out there.

My mother had an A2. It really was a great car, and incredibly fuel efficient with the 1.4 FSi engine. I think it weighed under 1,000 kg.

Can I just...I drove one when it came out.  And I really seriously thought this would be the next big thing in elegant, comfortable motoring.  I was so wrong!

The Avantime wasn’t so much targeted at the children who had grown up in a minivan, as at their parents, once those children had left the nest. Nevertheless, there was also a dark, cynical side to it, which I’m sorry to reveal, given Jason’s obvious enthusiasm for the thing.

The last car produced by Matra :(

I’ve always loved the Avantime. I like the idea of an unnecessarily roomy people carrier with only 4 seats. Just the most airy and spacious cabin imaginable with all that glass.

It looks hideous.

Translation : We are making some of the best engines on the market, we already lost the handling characteristics with the latest BMW generations, please, please let us have our engines. If not we will just look like any other expensive German brands ...

While debate rages on, we can all agree that lead image car is fucking hideous.

The mk4 -> mk5 Mitsubishi Eclipse

Z31 Nissan Z to the Z32 Z..

The mkIV Golf GTI to the mkV.

There’s some funny coincidences going on here: shortly after my sister got divorced in ‘03 she got herself a used a ‘00 Focus 5-door hatchback with the 1.4L engine, a dark blue one like most MK1 Focus sold here in Portugal - a shade that’s almost exactly the same as my dad’s Renaults - that she still drives to this

Lancia!!👍👍
