I argue that Pininfarina did a better job with the timeless 406 coupé. This was first shown 25 years ago. Photos actually don’t do it it justice.

There’s a future slideshow for you. All the 70s (and sometimes 60s) designed cars that got refreshed with new bumpers and taillights in the 80s. I can think of several.

Wait, there was a facelift to the 504 coupé? Why would they ruin such an amazing design with that body-coloured bumper?

I’m really, really missing 2dr cars. Almost every car used to come as a 2-door (not even necessarily a “coupe”).

I think with minimal effort it could go another ten years.

Say what you will about geezers, but they generally take really good care of their cars. Especially if they still saw this as an aspirational or prestigious ride when they bought it.

It’s probably fine, but I voted ND just for spite. CL does not charge by the word or by the photo, so there is no excuse for not including engine information, even if its a basic as “4-cyl” or “v-6.” If this was a wagon, I’d definitely bite though. Those wheel covers, ugh. Some OEM dishes would look so much better.

Cars like this outlive their ancient curses. They are the ancient curse: “I damn you to reliable transportation that is devoid of passion but too reliable to ever replace!  Live your days in unfettered boredom, mortal.”

I just posted how i sold a very similar Century in silver/blue for 2700 in Denver.  yes this is a steal

NP, I just sold my late grandmothers 95 century with 83K on it - nearly same condition for 2700 in the Denver Area.

There is no evidence that can convince me this car was not made in the late 1980s. None, whatsoever.  I mean, LOOK AT THAT INTERIOR.  Look at it!

At first glance, I was pretty sure you used an Accord from several years later. Then I realized I misread the Buick’s year (or just assumed it) to be somewhere around the 1986 range.

Saab 9000 CD to be exact

Such a reminder of how far behind GM was in the 90's. Compare to the same year Accord interior.

There was another drawback with the pickup conversion. A pickup will have a speed limit of 80 km/h (the maximum speeds in our regular roads can be 100 km/h and on the motorways 120 km/h). And the limit had to be shown with embarrassing yellow sticker in the back. This example Volvo had been “van converted” and it

Anything less than $2000 for an unmolested used car in good running condition is an automatic Nice Price.

Basic transportation at a basic price.   Good to teach a newer driver about the responsiblities of owning and operating, without risking too much safety or money. NP

For Fud-It money, this is truly a Nice Price!

As the purchaser of a 1985 9000, picked up in Gothenberg, I CAN CONFIRM YOU ARE CORRECT! BTW, these ponycar-pickups are brilliant. This vehicular genre needs a name. How about “sport-utility vehicles”? “SUV’s”, for short.

When I had my 83/85 Camaro and 92 Firebird I used them like trucks at times to haul stuff around with the rear seat folded down. My 91 Probe served the same way with even more room in the deep cargo area thanks to FWD.
