Hot take: Archer should have packed it in after Jessica Walter died. Last season’s finale could have been a series finale, but here we are.

I read this comment in the voice of Matt Berry. :)

LOL the show is already about Jews in the immediate postwar era. I think they’re good on minority representation for the story that’s being told.

My fave (not fave) was when the Outlander reviewer incessantly complained that a historical romance series for middle-aged women that dates from 1990 didn’t have enough queer representation.

Im sure the book purists will be respectful..........

Ha.  This being a sort of Star Trek: First Contact type of prequel to The Expanse crossed my mind several times, too. Head canon activated!

installing a posh boy English Etonian with no relevant experience as Executive Director who’s only doing it as a side-job to their work in the US

I’d lean coincidence. The term comes from wrestling (and was popularized by The Rock), so it makes sense and is pretty well in character for each Sean and Mac to pick it up that way.

Are Nadja and the doll Nadja bathing in a bathtub full of blood?

I don’t think you missed anything. It really was that poorly set up/explained.

In the show, Ed was born in 1932 so he would have been around 62-64 in the timeline of season 3. Molly was 5 years younger than Ed, apparently. Ellen Wilson was born in 1943, so she would have been in her early 50s. I imagine if we jump ahead to 2003 like we saw in the close of the finale, that will mean Ed will have

There was a really interesting Vulture interview with Wrenn Schmidt today where they asked her about Margo’s parallels to Martha and she was talking about the characters’ differing levels of choice and agency—as well as all of the FAM/ Americans crossover.

As always, well done. One of the things that will continue to confound me about this season and finale is that, when it came down to it nothing that Jimmy did was necessary. That band of idiots could have driven their explosive-laden van up to NASA at any time, so why go through the whole rigmarole with Jimmy,

The name Martha almost feels incomplete without the word “poor” before it. Or maybe that’s just what The Americans conditioned me to think.

It would have been kind of cool to show a large martian colony but as they zoom out, it reveal it not Americas, or Soviet Union but North Korea. Now that would have been pretty shocking way to end the season.

Thanks for providing great review instead of just the AV Club’s episode play-by-play.

...where you learn about this new astronaut’s journey and understand who he is as a human, who he loves, and what keeps him going

Definitely Henry, after tiring of mopey Stan. But I’m still annoyed they didnt take him to Moscow to jump start the KGB Cyberhacking Division. Final payoff for all those years playing video games, and tapping away at his monitor, in the background.

So I have a question. According to the show Joel Kinnaman’s character, Ed Baldwin, was born in 1932. Which means during season 4, which takes place in 1994/1995, Ed Baldwin is in his early 60's?

This was a disappointing season. They weren’t smart enough to maintain the whole season based around the differences of corporate vs government space flight so they reverted back to what they know how to do, which is over the top soap opera drama. I would give this season a c+ or b- whatever a 7 out of 10 would
