Same. As I said up thread, I worked indy promotions in SoCal for a few years as a referee so I have seen some botched spots. But never something that obviously dangerous and that clearly botched.

I still think the most horrific thing I saw during my WWE fandom was La Reistance botching the table spot with Spike Dudley. They were supposed to chuck him through the table ringside from the middle of the ring and they didn't throw him far enough. He clips the edge of the table with his head and I flat out thought…
This will always be one of my favorite matches just because both guys totally sell it out. If I’m not mistaken, after all the damage outside the ring, Shane still manages to pull off a shooting star press onto an empty mat that had to hurt like a mother after everything else. And props to Mike Chioda for helping as…
If anyone has a subscription to The Athletic, the entire article from March is worth a read. Lots in there about Logan's relationship with his disabled brother and how that's shaped him. And mad respect to Cena.
Says the guy replying to every Padres fan on the thread.
The plot thickens. MLB just put out a statement basically telling the union to STFU and to avoid the hyperbolic comparisons to workplace violence. https://twitter.com/AJCassavell/status/1141102108793397248?s=09
It’s not a stretch at all. Both involve star players getting run up on a called third strike, immediately and animatedly ripping into the umpire, and chucking a bat.
Some additional context regarding the ejection:
I’ve always loved Drew’s writing and now I know it’s because we’re kindred spirits. I used to hoard Garfield and Far Side comics like they were gold back during the halcyon years of Scholastic Book Fairs.
This one just felt a little irresponsible and reckless to me. Given the setup and frame of the article, she could have embedded anybody’s tweets and they’d be read in the most malicious way possible. I think that’s problematic.
I’m going to disagree with that. I think she does good work and I haven’t seen something like this before (of course, it is completely possible that I had a heightened awareness of this due to a personal connection).
Is it really necessary to torch what Fallows said? His tweet seems to be a reasonable interpretation of the sentence.
I have to say, as a 34 year old man who grew up in San Diego and has driven all over Southern California, the idea of the left lane as a “passing” lane is completely foreign to me. I didn’t realize this until driving through New York last summer.
I'm just waiting for the guy that showed up on every thread around the launch who swore up and down that the pay-for-cards model would work because it does for physical games like Magic. That might work well IRL with physical cards but it was obviously a non-starter for a digital game.
I've been using a vape pen for years and it's the way to go. You can pretty much take it and use it anywhere someone would normally smoke. It's amazingly convenient when you're somewhere like Vegas or have kids.
I live in Beaumont so it's either the 10 to the 5 or the 210 to the 134. The 605 seems to ruin both the 10 and the 210, so it's not like it works really well for us either way. With no traffic, it should be like a 75 minute drive but it usually takes 2 hours or more to get out there.
Small quibble, but Burbank is definitely not Anaheim. I wish like hell Blizzard Arena was in Anaheim instead as it would save me the perpetual hell that is the 210 west of the 57.
Next year should be telling as they are not planning to expand this off season as they pivot to home games in each market next year. Regardless, they still made it farther than a new football league, which is saying something in today's America.
I keep holding out hope that they’ll do the Grand Finals at T-Mobile arena in Vegas next year. That would be awesome.
Oh I'm not blaming the arena, I'm blaming rush hour traffic in LA. It cripples everything, including attendance at other sporting events in the region (there's a reason there's a joke about Dodger fans showing up in the third inning). I think starting at 4 PM on Thursdays and Fridays probably hurts their live…
