It is truly an amazing accomplishment that humanity actually managed to subjugate a particular disease. Granted, we still struggle with them on a daily basis. Hell, I got recently sidelined for a few days by that old foe, the common cold. Still, it is absolutely amazing to me that we managed to eliminate the disease

Well, if anything, and given sufficient money and political will, Chernobyl will teach us a lot about how to bioremediate and reverse the damage of radiation disasters.

FOREST OF SLAUGHTER! OH YEAH!!!

In recent news, China found an ancient document that provides claim to all of the waters in the Arctic. It therefore belongs to China, and everyone else there stole it from China.

It's not like we thought she was shy, but now we know: Not shy.

Simpsons did it!

You have just spoken my very heart and soul. And thanks for the great pics.

I wish I could island hop across the Pacific in a classic flying boat. Leisurely traveling to islands like this. Back then flying was more like traveling on a train. Spacious compartments and lounges, restaurant service, a bar.

A war engineered and funded by the banker elite still poisoning the planet, while they got the best of it and only getting richer onward.

Gotta agree, here. I also remember reading an article several years back about different isotopes researched as part of the Manhattan Project, with Thorium coming up as a better fuel but with less explosive capabilities, hence our current uranium/plutonium dominated nuclear reactors. That said, I am not a Nuclear

The kind hate nuclear power gets, is unsubstantiated. Everyone points out Chernobyl or Fukushima as examples of nuclear power gone wrong, which is true. But in the US, we've never had a nuclear related accident since TMI, where it's estimated that the rate of cancer in the area increased by 1 in 100,000. You'd get

"Coal and nuclear plants are being shut down due to environmental concerns"

Dreadfully wrong you are.

what. the. fuck.

As my father always said, "You can want in one hand... but don't be a dumb ass. Get me a beer." Sage words.

OK, I can understand FBI wanted to hack Iran, Nigeria, Pakistan, Turkey and Iraq websites. I am fine with it. Internal security blah, blah, blah... But why the fuck they wanted to hack Polish Embassy website in the UK? Americas best friend in EU, trusted ally... Bad FBI, bad... Shame on you.

Yeah!!! I hate the anti-vax movement's implication that autism (which, of course, is not actually caused by vaccines) is a fate worse than death. I know a couple autistic guys who occasionally chew their food up and spit it back onto their plates, and have been known to have accidents on the floor from time to time.
