Used to partake in the parking space hunt when my wife lived on the UES. Was never fun. Got a parking garage when we moved down town and I drove to work each day. First on 34th and 9th, then in Battery Tunnel garage. Worth every penny paid to have a guaranteed space.

...or throw them into fire.

No, no, no. You’ve got it all wrong. See, the owners are nuclear scientists and they are being really specific. It’s been damaged by “light water”(H2O)  vs. “heavy water” (D2O).

More succinctly: A-bomb goes boom. H-bomb goes BOOM.

My sister is an EMT and was an ER nurse for many years. She has a term for people who ride sans-helmet: organ donors.

Purdue puts a bag of parts in with every oven stuffer roaster: heart, neck, gizzard, liver. Mom used to dump it all in a pot and simmer to make gravy. After cooking I always asked for the heart before she cut up the bits for gravy. Lean and tasty.

This immediately came to mind:

Boeing called. 737 wants it’s intake back.

The F-14 was the greatest Navy plane. I’m fortunate to have this about 20 minutes from my house as a memorial to Grumman and it’s manufacturing legacy:

That’s interesting and all, but was it Trail Rated®?

Huge props for the old-school dual-deck boom box. I had a similar one and it was fantastic.

Totally agree. Those waterfall grills - especially in chrome with the chrome bumper - made the truck look like a slack-jawed oaf with a constant flow of drool running out it’s maw.

Agreed, bright chrome trim looks good in the showroom and probably sells a lot of cars with it’s upscale looks. But unless strategically placed it can suck when driving.

That’s a thing on Long Island, NY too.

Yeah pretty close. And those looked like 2 bicycle cops too.

My mom had an early 1980's Peugeot 505 diesel wagon that needed to go in for repairs - for the upteenth time. The dealership gave her a 1970-something Alpha Romeo Spider as a loaner. She had it for 2 weeks, and that was enough to convince her the Peugeot - in comparison - was a wonderful, well designed and

Major league umps have to stand the whole game (unlike the players), but they are hit by balls relatively infrequently. I think youth baseball umps are more at risk. The ump at my son’s game last night got solidly hit 4 times in 6 innings: twice in the mask, once on wrist, and once in the hip.

Yes. Except if I were operating my smart phone by not looking at it I would want a rotary dial on it as well. Dedicated knobs are just simpler and more intuitive for certain functions.

Have to disagree. There may be many sight gags to enjoy, but taken as a whole Cars 2 was not good. My kids, squarely in the target demographic, agree and rarely watch our DVD copy. After seeing Cars 3 my daughter (7) commented on how she was glad it was not like Cars 2.

Came here to say essentially the same thing. My dad had a VW Dasher wagon. The fixed window on the rear door was broken twice by thieves while parked on the street. It was THE MOST expensive piece of glass on the car.
