Jesus. As a cyclist who does everything possible to be courteous and responsible when riding, this is terrifying. Thank God for those bystanders else the cyclist might be dead.

I’m fan of boats as well as cars, and have enjoyed the (limited) articles on boats. Do you have plans on continuing or expanding your coverage of nautical things with engines?
Drivers that camp out in the left lane.
That looks horrible to try to get into for a normal sized person. I’d like to see Clarkson try to get in it. Would be very entertaining.
I get communications from the dealers where I DIDN’T purchase the car. It’s not the sales person. It’s the marketing group.
No they don’t. I still get emails related to a car a bought 6 years ago.
Bingo. Reduces backups and red light times, maintains flow on the main road. Having moved from NJ to Long Island, we could use some jug handles here. Every effing intersection has left turn lanes that make the signals interminably long. Plus assholes run the left turn red lights and clog up the traffic even more.
Having worked for the Americas division of a Japanese company for almost 2 decades, I can confirm the validity of all the management structure and practices described. In many ways it was like reading about my own company.
I guess the jacked-up look of the Mercedes GLE class was too pedestrian.
First: Oh man, what a great way to review a car. Second: you ate poutine IN THE DB11? I regularly eat breakfast during my commute, but thy shalt not drip gravy in the Aston Martin.
I’ll take the two stalk design every time. All the commonly used controls are right there, no need to fumble around for something and look for the control on the dash. Stalks used to be more complicated with the cruise control, but have simplified somewhat with the advent of steering wheel buttons.
Peugeot had this on the left-hand stalk with the turn signals. It was weird. I remember my dad being SUPER PISSED at me when I accidentally hit the horn in the showroom model while he was negotiating the price for his second or third Peugeot (I was between 8 and 10). I had no idea that some idiot would put the…
When I think of my dad and cars, it always comes back to his brown 1980 VW Dasher diesel wagon. There’s not one specific story that makes it memorable; it’s the collection of small moments together with him that makes for many happy memories.
Now to figure out why in my zero-technology car (65 Mustang) they put an Optima RedTop AGM when it’s got plenty of alternator and nothing else to power but the ignition and maybe headlights....
Yes, and the lead-acid battery works well for the purpose.
Battery differences have to do with their construction and the types of loads they are intended to support.
But now we all own a giant house that we can’t afford the upkeep on since we spent all our money on iphones and hookers instead of investing in the house.
When I was in college in the mid 90's there was was an orange Karmann-Ghia that sat in one of the dorm parking lots. For 3 years, every very time I passed it I wanted to cry because it never moved and was totally neglected with 4 flat tires. It could have been a beauty if only it had an owner to give it some love.
I’ve always liked the Rebel line since I got my motorcycle license in 1999. Honda really seemed to nail it with a cruiser-style bike that’s reliable, easy to ride, and understated. A Harley can be beautiful and certainly has a distinct culture that they have honed with a fantastic marketing machine. But I’ve never…
Not any more. I have to say it was nice when the sherrifs were patrolling the LIE. They were less aggressive during rush hours compared to SCPD and traffic flowed much better.
