hmmm, maybe. Is that your read of it? That a plate of iceberg lettuce means that you’re eating too much and that you should be ashamed?
I can respect that you don’t want to put this plate in front of a person with an eating disorder, but I was specifically thinking about the fat shaming.
As a Morbidly obese person, I don’t see how this is shaming. One of the many successful ways to reduce weight if you want to (noone has to) is portion control and if you don’t want to weigh anything, knowing that a 4 oz. portion of chicken breast fits in the smallest circle could be a really helpful visual reminder.…
You are insulting someones education credntials now. This is no way to be.

I’m talking about sustaining population growth, I’m not talking about Hooray capitalism, or that it is anything but amoral and immoral. just that Marx’s ideas on machinery don’t really hold up completely. The Poverty rate decreased under technological advances even as the population grew. That means that machines…
That’s what I’m saying, the specter of a huge leap was there for Marx and not only did machines not throw millions more into unemployment, they supported unanticipated population growth.
I kind of agree, especially when that 2$ or whatever can be rolled up into a automatic 20% gratuity that a lot of places are requiring upfront on the menue to ensure their workers are getting paid fairly. This looks like a pass the buck situation where the restaurant takes in this money but there isn’t a really an unde…
I love Marx, but his theory was that the machines, even the basic ones that were on the horizon in his day would eliminate and disenfranchise the working class, which hasn’t nearly come to pass even though technology has progressed beyond his wildest dreams.
