I will die on the Hill of Capri. The Capri’s run in the US coincided with the early to late 70's Mustangs which includes the really bloated 73 through the Mustang II years which saw Ford drastically downsize their cars and onto the beginning of the Fox bodies. Back in the day when I had my 76' Capri II with V6 and

Realistically today’s Dad (me) drives a decent sized 3 row SUV of relatively non descript looks / color. It has replaced the station wagon of the 60's-70's and the Mini van of the 80's-90's.  I’ve opted for a Mazda CX-9 but the epitome to me is a Toyota Highlander or a Ford Explorer.

I had my mid life crisis in my 30's prior to getting married and kids, but I do find myself with a 09 Audi S5 Coupe so that seems to track...but I’ve also been riding motorcycles too so...

My Dad had this car back in the early 70's. Ours was a 68. As a current Dad I’ve been looking for one of the last B wagons.  But they’ve all become way expensive.  And they too sport the Vista window in the roof but not along the sides.

they are essentially predatory and a shade away from being outright illegal. I’d try and dig out the tracker and attach it to a raft and let it go on a river.

Though I am not in that position today, I have been there in my past. But I didn’t further put myself in financial crisis by getting into what seems to be a bad/shady deal to get a 20yr old car. I was driving 20yr old cars and they got me where I was getting to but I bought what I could barely afford and NOT on

Pretty much why I said “even a 2015 would be a stretch“.  I’m aware that 10yo cars are still going for serious money but I still can’t see financing a run of the mill 20 year old car regardless the need.  I feel for this family for sure.

That’s truly F’d up shady crap preying on those with the least ability but needs.

Who the hell is financing a 2005 Ford Taurus?!?  even a 2015 would be a bit of a stretch.  I mean I feel bad for these people but the dealer that sells and finances a car like this has got to be sketchy as F.

Engine Grenaded?! - 1985 I’m working at an Autobody shop with a contract with a local BMW dealer. I used to be the one to run over with our Secretary to pick them up to bring back to the shop. The drive back was always fun in that I had a mix of a short run on local highway then some nice local roads to our shop. I

Years ago my mom moved back to her homeland of the UK. She had her own Teashop in a beautiful remote village in Derbyshire. I was visiting her and one night while driving home from visiting family (I was driving, she hated driving) we came home our usual way on top of the Dales at about 35-45mph. We were encountering

I learned to drive on my dad’s Fiat Spyder but my first car was a 76 Capri. It had the 4spd manual and V6. Loved that car.

The Ford Capri (or in US guise, the Mercury Capri). Ford aped themselves in Europe to great success by capitalizing on the Mustang’s styling and success and created the Capri initially for Europe and then sent it here to the US.  It went on in Europe until 1986, 8 years after the last ones were sold here.

Came here to say the same. The Miata was inspired by the Elan, not so much the MG.

Various Ferrari’s used Fiat Switch gear, side marker lights and trunk/frunk opening handles from Fiats.

Pantera’s used Alfa GTV taillights.

That motor was the only thing I truly loved about our 07 Saturn Vue.

I couldn’t remember if I’d ever seen leather or vinyl seats on them.  My HS friend had one back in the day.  It was nearly new and I’m pretty sure it wasn’t the upmarket one.  Nice car but was never quite my taste.  I always wanted a 240 or 260 Z instead.

well said. This is my 4th Audi. My first 2 (81 Coupe GT & 85 Audi 5000s) were relatively easy to deal with. I bought the GT with 80K on it and drove another 75K in three years with only one oddball item going south. My 91 V8 Quattro was thoroughly gone through by my mechanic before I picked it up in 99 and we went

I’m generally more worried about a car that has super low mileage for its year as its likely sat alot of its time.  So the mileage is all relative to me.
