I think the Ford LX was sorta based or shared alot of Mustang Architecture.  If you squint you can almost see a 4dr Mustang in the picture you posted.  Neighbor had a V6 version.  I drove it once.  It was comfy, quiet and boring but it was nice.

Years ago a coworker of mine was totally into being cops and loved Miami Vice. His brother was a cop but he was a bit of a misfit. He bought himself a used light blue Caprice, put dog dishes on it and a couple of correctly placed antennas to look like an unmarked. At the time I had gotten good at window tinted and he

A decent creeper. I had a shitty old 4 wheeled K-Mart wood one for years and it would get stuck, fell apart and wasn’t comfortable. Finally got a legitimate 8 wheeled steel and all padded low creeper with adjustable head rest. WTF was I doing all those years on that piece of shitty wood.?

Yup! Since it was designed in UK/Germany as a Euro Mustang of sorts I believe FoMoCo didn’t want it directly across from Mustangs on their showroom floors. Mercury was always the more Lux side of the house and later when they brought the Sierra over as a Merkur XR4Ti and the Granada over as a Scorpio, meant to be more

Not a specific make/model, but your FIRST car is always the most Significant vehicle in history. At the very least it’s always the most Significant car in your life. Always remembered warts and all. I loved my first car. A 1976 Mercury Capri V6 4spd manual. It had plenty of issues over my nearly 3yrs of ownership, but

Its like when I ride my motorcycle in higher temps, I love my mesh jacket and have used cooling base layers.  Wet them and the air coming through the mesh jacket allows me to be airconditioned.  I do that with my helmet liner too, wet it and open all the vents and my head stays cool which means I can actually

Oh no, I knew they exist but not in F1.  Likely weight/cost savings?

Cool suits used to be a thing. I don’t recall a specific ruling making them no go, but it would make sense to have them. And if not outright AC, how about just an ability to vent the cockpit? Although I assume that would give the aero engineers heart palpitations.

I used to regularly replace the spare tire with one of my take off’s when I was getting a new set of tires.  The spare might then be worn, but it was at least newer.

Way back when I was 15 (1981) I started riding Mopeds. NJ at the time required that we get a moped license so that’s what I did.  Usual DMV visit, take a test, show them my birth certificate and SS card. My 17yo had an ID at about 15 for working papers so that tracks.

Hmm, I do not remember any provisions up there for speakers. In the brochure you see the door option ones. And yup, their stereo options where meh sounding and expensive. I did not realize there were so many options available for the German market. I only recall AC, Sunroof, Radio, car mats & mud guards for my 1990

I can distinctly remember them having a couple radio options on the show room floor display, and I was like for that money I can go get myself something better.  I bought an Alpine with a Benzi box, bought the speaker kits for the doors and bought some decent speakers.  Eventually made myself a new parcel shelf and

I’ve had two Focus’s (Foci? 12 and 14) and both had the MFT. For its time I thought it was pretty good. I rarely used the HVAC controls quadrant and the Nav was actually good if a bit of PIA to initially set up a destination. In today’s light obviously no Apple car play, but my daughter uses the car now and is fine

As a former owner from new of a 1990 GTi, this car is showing less wear in 168K miles than mine did after 3yrs and 60Kmiles. I find that shocking especially as it has likely seen off road duty. Minor niggle for me is that I don’t see any speakers for the stereo.  I bought my GTi without a stereo and installed myself

That sucks. Its gotta come to a Civil suit against them to get them to pay is ridiculous. What happened to owning up to it? My parents would have paid and taken it out of my allowance.

If I’m going to sell my soul I would like an island with a private home and boat launch, not a freakin C class.  Anything less and it just petty criminal activity which he is king of.

Not all. I am a biker of 35+ yrs. I wish all sorts of pain and suffering on these ride out boys and girls who are “just livin’ their bike” life. I don’t go around wheeling, taking over streets, ignoring rules of the road (ok, I will speed), riding on sidewalks, or the wrong way and absolutely not damaging other’s

I would assume that if a car hits just about any farm vehicle the car loses vs a car hitting a golf cart where the cart loses. Also, another assumption is that farm vehicle is in rural area vs golf cart all over the damn place in the Villages in Florida.

If you’ve ever been to the Villages in Florida, you’ll realize that EVERYONE has a golf cart and they drive on the roads there. Couple years back our friends who live there let my then 13yo daughter drive to the guest pool with him sitting next to her... on the PUBLIC roads. Now granted these are 25mph and it was

I think great drivers can make all-seasons work in the adverse conditions, but I do consider myself a good driver and when I put dedicated snows on steelies on my GTi after driving on all seasons, my runs to Vermont or other NE ski areas was vastly less stressful. That was back in the 90's btw. I will note that I used
