The GTE’s were great, my brother had an early 1.8 one, then chopped that in for a 2.0 8 valve, then chopped that in for a 16v (which was awesome!), also one of my mates a 16v, got to love that digi dash in them, I only had a (pretty rare as they only made it for a couple of years) 1.6 Sr.

Oh they had many issues, as most 80’s cars did. The 1.3 would burn oil and the cam would go if people skimped on oil changes (but it was a great, willing little engine that loved to be revved and sounded great doing so!), they rust around the rear wheel arches, sills (especially the GTE\GSi’s with the plastic trim)

Yes, as they are all called now in Europe.

Maybe it had the windscreen replaced badly? Was the first European small car with bonded windows.

Tbh that’s the worst possible picture of an old neglected base model he could have posted!

All the yesess (I know that’s not an actual word) to all of this!

I knew many people, myself included, that owned MK 2 Astra’s, none leaked water from the interior light (even ones with sunroofs).

No, it became a Korean car after Europe was done with it.

Jesus, and I thought my brother was mad paying over £30k for his brand new (and admittedly awesome!) Defender 110 Landmark a couple of weeks ago!! :)

That poor Bentley is ruined in every way, it's best just to scrap it now and put it out of it's misery. And the price, HUGE CP!

Well I lol’d!

Whenever I drive my Citroen DS4 I always switch the display in the middle of the speedo to show me the speed (in fact any car that has the feature), I find it much easier for quick glancing at my speed, a large lcd display showing 45mph is much quicker and easier to read than a needle pointing on a dial that might not

And 4k! lol

I think this is the next logical step, I find modern lcd displays in cars a bit weird because they have no depth to them, even posh ones in like the new TTs.

The Nova was a compact, think 80’s equivalent of a Chevy Spark, I hit a Ford Sierra, made more of a mess of that than my car, mostly the passenger front of mine was damaged, his back wheels where behind the front seats and the fire brigade had to cut the Sierra open to get him out, stupid old git, off duty police

I was actually doing 60 about 2 seconds before the crash, the skid marks from my tyres where very small as I barely had time to react and get on the brakes (old guy pulled out of a side road as I was passing said side road!), I’m glad you agree anyway.

I’m showing this to my boss tomorrow, thanks!

2015 Range Rover Autobiography, he didn’t say it had to be a reliable car! lol

I had a greater than 40mph crash in a 1986 Vauxhall Nova years ago, apart from some bruising from the seat belt and a sore neck I was fine. My friend who came off his R1 last year at 40mph, totaled the bike and had a smashed collar bone, dislocated shoulder on the other side, various pulled and ripped muscles, was off
