The TOS for OKCupid pretty explicitly states that they do not vet candidates, and that users should do their best to verify that the other person is a person, and not a scam. They even link to their own blog post about being careful while dating online, and offer useful tips like, "let a friend know where and when you

I haven't played in almost fifteen years (hooray SCUMM emulators!), and I'm guessing that it has probably been a few years for you, too. I think we are entitled to forgetting a few of the entirely diverse methods by which to die in that game.

Put radioactive pool water in the microwave, and turn it on. The radioactive steam cloud kills EVERYONE.

Since I know you will appreciate this, I'll repost it from my reply to "Jeff" earlier: he has obviously never heard of the Hero of Canton - that man called Jayne.

While it is uncommon as a female name, I've got a friend who might disagree with you about whether her name is a proper girl's name or not. You've probably never heard of a man called Jayne, either...

I was so super glad to see your comment here, and even happier to see the rapidly increasing number of stars next to it. This article and your comment need to be here to educate the clueless as to what inappropriate behaviour looks like. This is the only way we are going to be able to improve the culture. Thanks for

I think that the problem is that there are a lot of young men who confuse the "uniform" of cool with actually being cool and charming. You can dress for success all you want - but if you don't know how to behave in that outfit, it isn't going to help one bit. Conversely, if you have genuine charisma, you can

Watched "the Italian Job" yesterday. Not a big role, but he has fun. Furthermore, he is a PERFECT Ford Prefect, even if the "Hitchhikers' Guide" is terrible.

You are not experiencing real world consequences for cheating in an imaginary world. You are merely being severed from your access to that imaginary world by the gatekeepers of that world. It is their world, and when you visit, you do so on their terms. If as a guest, you choose to violate the rules of their house,

All sites have scammers and spammers. The problem is that match.com itself is creating the fake profiles, perhaps in order to make it appear as if attractive people are present on the site and potentially available to date you.

Hmm. I have the exact same problem with my PC running Win7 and my Samsung television. If the hard drive goes to sleep or if I just started it up after a power off, the HDMI driver does not recognize the television as a high resolution monitor and does not transfer sound with the HDMI cable. It informs me under the

I have no idea what I have just watched, but I am a better person for it. Thank you.

Two theories:

Hmm. Should have put "who is this?" in quotations, or maybe mentioned that I was going to go watch another Don Blyth production like "the Secret of NIMH" on VHS. I remember how this used to cost a whole buck at the arcades - premium pricing in a time of Galaga.

Who is this? Yeah, now I feel old.

Triple comment. Thanks, Kinja!

Double comment. Kinja is an amazingly awkward system. Sorry for biting your head off again.

You know what? I apologize. As another poster down below suggests, I jumped straight to conclusions about what kind of person you were, rather than stopping to try and educate first. For my impatience and for my irate tone, I apologize.

You know what? You're absolutely right. I jumped straight to conclusions. I really should have taken the time and made the effort to educate a genuinely confused and possibly young person as to why the recipient of unwanted attentions might have wanted to ignore the incident rather than shut the transgressors down

Fair enough. I will grant that the guy's apology may well be sincere. He needs help. This was his wakeup call. He should probably be glad that it came in the form of social ostracism rather than a drunken car accident.
