An interest-free loan to the world's wealthiest man is not exactly a purchase.

Quite frankly, if you can afford a 6-figure car, you can afford an apartment that has chargers in the garage. My place has 4 chargers that I think are even free to use (I don't see any way to use a card or enter your unit number). And I certainly can't afford a Model X.

When you drop 100k plus on a car you don't have anymore, he probably can't afford another electric car that has that kind of range.

“The bill covers all ‘low-speed conveyances’ “

I literally lost my brand new 12mm deep well within about 5 minutes of taking it out of the package last weekend. I’m sure I’ll find it once I get the two tables worth of parts installed, and I got lucky in that the 2 metric deep well sets I got from harbor freight overlap on the 12mm, but I'm still pissed at myself.

I mean, of course it did. People have been clamoring for a small, cheap truck for ages. This is a small, (possibly) cheap truck. It also offers genuine advantages over full or mid-size trucks. Mid sizers are still a bit large and cumbersome when it comes time to navigate a parking garage. They don’t deliver enough of

I mostly agree on the spare. AAA is cheap and I don’t really want to change the tire on the side of the highway anyhow.

I would buy that immediately if they sold it in the US.

Mazda ranked as Consumer Reports' 2nd most reliable brand in their latest annual list. Just below Lexus and just above Toyota. My '04 Mazda 3 ran like a champ. Body turned to rust like many Mazdas of that vintage. No other major issues, though, and they figured out the rust issues with the 2nd generation.

They don't, and I'm not sure where that joint factory ended up. I know they ran into issues with the spot that was chosen.

As with many of these, that certainly wasn't slow for the time.

What isn’t so funny is that Toyota seems genuinely interested in making at least some enthusiast-focused cars, but decided to work with Subaru and BMW on them instead of Mazda. They could have had a GR86/RX-7 pair and a GR Corolla/Speed3 pair. The RX Vision could have become a higher-end model to pair with the Supra.

You’re right about the efficiency and rust issues, but I would thoroughly disagree on the reliability. I had a year-one Mazda3, and that thing never gave me an issue that wasn’t related to the rust. Drove well, was comfortable, never had a problem with engine or transmission. But the rust up here ate it alive. Still

I have the regular corolla hatch, and I would suggest you keep looking. Interior is a bit cramped, even for the segment. And the cargo space is embarrassing for a hatchback, even with the “Enhanced Cargo Space” option that deletes the spare. Without that option, space is nigh criminal.

Maybe it will be different with this car (guessing somewhat limited production), but my local Toyota dealer custom ordered me a car less than a year ago. Took 6 months to get it due to the pandemic, but they did it.

I am in the process of settling my 22 Corolla hatch right now. Good little car, but a bit underpowered and the CVT and groaning exhaust have soured me on it.

I will be doing a similar job on a 2002 Montero Sport I just bought.

I don't think shaving weight is going to happen given the addition of AWD.

They are as exciting as any other hatchback. The cvt transmission kills an otherwise fun, tossable little car. Order one with a manual, and it’s probably one of the better small cars out there.

So, can we just not let these guys do boats anymore? Don't seem to be particularly good at it.
